Dave Brainard cues

I just got some new photos today at the pool room of my new Dave Brainard ( Cues Directly ) cue. They turned out really well so I thought I would share some. It's a custom ( I wanted a close replica of a Rambow ) Titlist conversion ( 1947 Green Label Willie Hoppe ) with a leather wrap. I know most Rambows had linen wraps but the one I had in 74 was black leather so that's what I wanted. This cue hits balls as well or better than anything I've ever owned or that I didn't / don't own but hit balls with. And I *love* the way it looks. Thanks again, Dave. Great work!

Beautiful cue Michael. I'll have to drop by one day and try it out! :)
That's a long ferrule on that shaft. Interesting.

You're more than welcome to hit as many balls as you wish with it, Jay. And drinks will be on me.


Yup... 1 1/4". I like long ferrules. I had the same ferrule put on one of my Joss shafts, and also had it turned down. Now I *LOVE* that shaft. When I got the Joss, I wasn't in love with any of the three shafts. But now I have one that is exactly what I want.

Damn, that really is pride and confidence in the work he has done. Will def have to try him out sometime for getting a cue made. Thanks for the feedback

ANDDDDDDDDDD he's inexpensive. Of course, that's "relatively" inexpensive, but still... he is absolutely NOT looking to rob anyone. People ask me what I paid for mine and they're like... noooooooooooooo. And I'm like, ummmm... yeah. Oh, yeah...

I really hope Jay gets the chance to play with it and take a good look at the shaft. That is an awesome shaft and it's just like every shaft I use, top quality.

Jay, Thanks for the kind words, it really means a lot from a guy with your reputation. If you played in your younger years around Los Angeles, you may have gotten a whoopin from my Grandad, well at least I would like to believe that lol. He loved Pool, the wallet he used to play for games when I was 6 is still the wallet I use today.

I arrived in Los Angeles in 1967 and stayed! It was pool heaven for me, with well over a hundred "active" pool rooms for me to invade. Plus there was bar action everywhere and Eight Ball on the little table was right up my alley. I could play day and night if I wanted to, and spent the next five years doing just that. I traveled up and down California and found games everywhere. It was fun to be a pool player back then. No negotiating a game, just get up and play. A decent player could grind out a living and stay in action every day. I never had a lot of money back then, but a grand or two was a big bankroll.

Maybe I did play your grand dad, who knows. I must have played several hundred guys during that time of my life. I had a pretty good record too, sometimes literally going months without losing! Of course I ducked all the champions, so they called me a nit, but I had money and a lot of them didn't. :)
