DAZN petty charge

Myself, I'd contact my CC company and discuss it with them. You shouldn't be held (up), responsible
for a charge you had no desire to incur. You'd be surprised how well you might enjoy the results.

Its in their Terms. I think its pretty lame myself but its hard to get any $ back when its there even if it is in the fine-print section.

I don't believe the fine print creates a binding contract. As a matter of course, I think you are supposed to skip reading the fine print.

I remember when I used to sign a lease for a particular apartment I lived in. They would actually give me the lease to read over for a day or two, then I was supposed to sign it and turn it in. When I first moved in, the lease was two pages of simple terms. Then some corporation bought the apartment complex, and the lease expanded to thirty pages of indecipherable text. My idea was: when they gave me the lease to take home I would copy the lease, then add all kinds of terms favorable to me buried in the middle ten pages of the lease, like if there was a dispute, then my friend would rule on the dispute, and if I won, I would get a $1k penalty for my troubles and 3 months free rent. And, after 1 year my rent would drop 10% per year on all subsequent leases until I moved out. Then when I moved out, I would receive a rebate of 25% for all monies paid for being a good tenant. I noticed that the next time I signed a lease, they didn't give me the lease to take home.

On a semi related note. My wife got a mailed bill from Atena the other day for 20 cents! So she wrote them a check and mailed it out. That’s petty!!

I had a gal from the office of a Volvo dealership call me one time because my parts account was 8 dollars in arrears from the prior month and overdue. I had been buying about 2k in parts from them a month for about 20 years at that time. Parts people and I would recognize each other's voice when I called. Somehow I owed 8 and change more than I paid that month. Cores in and out I don't know. I mildly chided her about how her time could be worth so little as to pick up the phone and call a long time client over 8 bucks. I told her I would just pay it the next month along with my bill and please don't give me any late charges on top of it. This was back when you had to write a check and mail it.

The next week she called me again. I asked her if she recalled talking to me about this 8 bucks last week and she said yes. I asked why did she call me again then and she stated it was their new policy. Too many dead beat customers.

I told her to close my account and never call here again. I haven't paid that 8 bucks to this day and found a new Volvo dealer to buy my parts from. I know some of you will say I should have paid it but I didn't. My time of being hassled over it was worth more than the 8 bucks and I just called it even.

I agree with what you said and did. I wanted the wife to let me handle it which she was adamantly against. I would have told them to try and collect their lousy 20 cents or lose my account. Vote with your feet is my motto, watch me walk and take my bucks with me!

I posted in the other thread, but they will never see another dime from me. I don't deal with shady company's who hide behind fine print in the terms of service to get more money out of me.

I paid for 30 days, if I cancel before those 30 days I shouldn't owe anything else. I would understand a 30 day notice if it was preventing them from giving my service to someone else (like renting an apartment), but streaming services, NO WAY!

I told the customer service guy at Dazn that I'm very sorry that next year I will just pirate the stream.

Lord knows I tried to be a citizen!

If you use Paypal, you can simply cancel the recurring payment there and they can't charge you again.
It saves you interacting AT ALL after signup with DAZN except to log in and watch.
This has worked perfectly for me for the last several years.

I just checked my DAZN account. I thought I cancelled as soon as I made my 1-month subscription. It turns out I was still subscribed. Maybe I forgot to cancel at the time or maybe I didn't.

In cancelling just now, I found out it's a lot harder than it used to be. Confirmation emails, offers to just suspend your account rather than actually cancel, etc. I suspect the workers there were told to stop the bleeding and they are doing what they can.

Edit: Evidently you have to confirm your email before they will allow you cancel. I'm not sure whether I'm cancelled or not.
I just cancelled myself and I had to do it twice, because I clicked around too quick. As you said before, you have to confirm this and that before you actually cancel. But, on the last dialog they switch primary and secondary button: "Stay" is bright yellow on the left and "Finish cancellation" is grey and on the right. The step before had them reversed. It's a pretty well known scammy pratice. I think, I read once the EU having a regulation on that. You enter a dialog to cancel and the last step has the prominent, primary action as being the opposite.

Howdy All;

Communicate with your Card folks in Customer service. Explain to them, and have them stop payment to
the DAZN folks. Of course notify DAZN that that is what you have done because of their underhanded business model.
