It should mainly be based on who won the most matches, not some loud mouths that lose a ton of money.

Who were you calling a loud mouth?

I think some may not realize the "E" stands for "entertainment" in the Louie Roberts A&E Award.
In other words, if there is high-stakes gambling but no entertainment, that only fills half the selection criteria. If there is entertainment, but no high-stakes gambling, then that only fills half the selection criteria.
That said, what is entertainment to some may not be entertainment to others. There is a conflict or tension in the American pool culture of pool purists versus action enthusiasts. What is entertaining to a pool purist may be like watching paint dry to an action enthusiast, and vice versa.
No matter who wins, there will be those who think the awardee is the wrong guy/gal. It happens every year, but one thing to keep in mind is that there can only be one winner.
I did not attend this year's DCC, so I have no idea who should win, but I thought I would just offer the above-referenced words as food for thought to those who may not be familiar with the selection criteria for this annual award.
Maybe you could do me a favor, and let the TV stations A&E know that the "A" stands for Arts.
I quit careing when they gave it J. Lee a few years back. So sad.
So which do you think is more important overall; action or entertainment? What is entertainment without action? .........woofing of course and this definitely not the woofing award....If it was, deathball would win year after year...lol. Action without a lot of woofing is still entertaining in my opinion. So that being said; if there is not someone who has been entertaining and also been in good action then the award should go to the best action because good action is always entertaining whether there is a lot of woofing or not.
Yes I agree I should have mentioned Brian too. The only problem for me re: Brian was I didn't see much of his action because it was in Ray's streaming room with the door closed. That might have been "entertaining" for the streaming audience but not for all the rest of the people at DCC not in the room. I did see the replay of the stick smash though.
To go further with this post, the whole idea of the Action & Entertainment award is to reward entertaining action in hopes that it leads to further attendance by action makers (player, backers, etc.) as well as action railbirds , sweaters, and bettors. Greg Sullivan wants to embrace, highlight, encourage, and showcase just how fun and entertaining action can be.
Having action to entertain only the stream was not the original intent of the award. Greg wants people to come to the event. He wants a continued word of mouth from those that got entertained to spread the word. The streams are great, don't get me wrong. They give people who can't attend a great look at the DCC. But stream viewers can't vote.
Quiet action that people at the DCC can't watch and get entertained goes against the award.
I do not understand this issue. Jeanette played four or five sets for over $10,000 each. Every time she was in action the place was wall to wall. Everyone bet on both sides of each match. She was in way more action than anyone else that year. Can you and/or the other person who said something about her winning explain the issue.
