DCC Rates/Prices

1. 1 can of cola: $2.84

2. 1 cup of coffee: $2.84

3. Frappachino: $5.68 (or close)

4. Croissant with egg: $7.50

5. 1 bottle of beer: $3.50

Cue & Cushions Prices;
1. Can of Soda: 50 cents
2. Fresh ground coffee : 50 cents
3. Frappachino (iced) $2.00
4. Popcorn: 75 cents.

I still get sarcastic eye rolls and "stealing money from my kids" comments every night on our prices. Dealing with the general public you will always have different ideas what prices are fair. Of course MOST opinions are from people that have never ran a business or never COULD run a business. So you take it in stride and try to ignore it. I do need to raise the popcorn to a $1 though. Guess more kids in St. Louis will starve to death because of it.

LOL....Cue, you are stealing from your kids, that is CHEAP! :D

To the OP, those prices are high.....considering the venue, I agree they need to make a reasonable profit, but I would see this as appropriate for the event:

1. 1 can of cola: $2.84 - nope, $1.50

2. 1 cup of coffee: $2.84 - nope, $1.50

3. Frappachino: $5.68 (or close) - nope, $4

4. Croissant with egg: $7.50 - nope, $5

5. 1 bottle of beer: $3.50 - nope, $2.50

Also, a $26 buffet is complete BS - they could have gone $15 here...

This would have been reasonable, closer to typical bar prices, and also likely would have made them more money in the end - I think people would have supported many more purchases at that level. The $6 beer and other events mentioned carry $50+ ticket prices and I don't feel like they equally relate here. Also, being a player and true fan that either cannot or doesn't want to miss the action over a 10 day period, going off-site may not necessarliy be an option. This venue could have likely made not only more money, but poised itself for future opportunities with reasonable prices, better seating, and better options for vendors (based on a few other posts), and their first priority should be taking care of customers, especially in this economic environment.

heck it might save me money to drive 2 1/2 hours each way to play at your place!! lol. If places charge too much, I spend less time there. I know that's not the thing folks want to do when they go to the DCC, but if it really bothers them enough they'll do it.

It's like I could never understand how Wrigley could constantly sell out with the team the team they put on the field (obviously better in recent years). I mean the Cubs spent next to nothing in getting better players and fans (one of the highest attendances in MLB) would still come to watch mediocre ball...??? Send a message...bad product for your money - don't go!! Or, like I was saying with those complaining about concession/room rates - go less, or elsewhere.

I'm with Watchez, the new venue can and will definitely change to better meet the needs of the event.

I and a professional friend were very fortunate to have a long discussion with the manager of the venue. He stated emphatically that they would love to have the event held there again; that the blizzard/ice storm was responsible for the markedly curtailed services; that they are very willing to change some things to make it better for the fans. He stated that they really didn't know what to expect; but they can definitely change a lot of things IF they know what people like/dislike.

He stated that the casino/hotel has a website and WELCOMES ALL FEEDBACK from the spectators and players.

Discussing these issues here is fun; but sending your thoughts to the management of the casino/hotel is HELPFUL.

For the venue to be open to discussion like this and so enthusiastic is a huge thing for the event going on into the future.

More then anyone the people running the show are probably the best people to listen to the fans and people who came out and then relay the fans concerns along with their own to the venue. Alot of people who would send letters would probably not send anything constructive in the slightest to the venue, as can be seen by this thread.

Don't let it make ya lose sleep over it either. I would be getting in fountain pop and charging $1.00 for a pint sized glass with ice, same price for a coffee. With your prices I am not sure how you live, you gotta sell alot of coffees and pops to make money at those prices.

I have never written or giving feedback to event organizers about venue, concessions, day to day operations, etc. etc. etc.

BUT, I do post un-constructive things on this and other forums all the time :p So, reading this thread may not be the best indicator of what is/can be passed along to those who can have a say in changes at this event. Thank you though for your condescending attitude towards those who've posted in this thread...I'm sure you can be the spokesman for everyone that went to the event...or not, doesn't matter to me (I will go whether or not changes are made - since I don't go for the entire event, and won't complain about things that I can avoid if I so choose to). :p

At least speaking from the standpoint of a fan, I'm gonna have to cast a dissenting vote.

The hotel, if you shared a room with someone else, was about $53 a night. The $9 breakfast buffet was a bargain and was always enough to hold you until dinner. If you spent $20 a day on drinks and snacks and another $15 on dinner, your daily budget was $97. For the nine days, that means $873. If you spent $240 on your airfare, which is roughly what I spent, and bought an all-event VIP pass for $185, your budget for a nine day vacation would have been $1,298. From a VIP seat, you'd have seen an electrifying bank pool ring game, a bank pool tournament consisting of hundreds of matches, a ten ball tournament consisting of 15 race-to-fifteen matches featuring the game's most elite, a one pocket tournament consisting of hundreds of matches, a nine ball tournament consisting of hundreds of matches, a straight pool tournament that included numerous hundred ball runs, and some big action matches.

For $1,298, that's good value in the eyes of this pool fan, and this was an inexpensive vacation. Yes, it could have been a little cheaper, but good value is good value.
