Dear Friends:

With kind helps from Diamonds Billiard Products, we are hosting a CueTable Layout Competition at Derby City Classic this year.

I would like to invite vistors to record some great shots each day and post them online at PL.CueTable.com. By going to the same site, people who cannot make it to Louisville this year will get to enjoy the excitement on the same day.

All participants will be able to remember the professionals' top performance from this event. At the same time they have a chance to win great prizes. Further more, all layouts will remain online as a great learning resource for the billiard community to study in the years to come.

The url for the Layout Competition is http://cuetable.com/event/dcc2007.html

CueTable Updates
Thank to people who have helped, there has been a few website updates.

Also, there has a programming update (as a great idea just clicked in my head on new years eve). As tested on old P4 machine this afternoon, the cpu monitor is showing "80%" instead of "100%" usage now. The current version is v70. If you don't see "Welcome to CueTable v.70 : ) " as program starts up, please make sure to reload the page in the browser. Meanwhile I shall keep working on improvements.

Thank you very much and I hope to meet you at DCC...

This is a great opportunity for anyone here to get updated, or expertly informed, on how to take most advantage of the Wei Table. This is a great teaching tool, a great learning aid, and a perfect way to stimulate discussion on great shots, whether they are old, new, real or imagined. Please take time to visit Wei, and make your comments known! I sure plan to...:D

Wei, this sounds like fun. Expect to see some great shots in the one pocket tournament and will try to keep the layout sheet handy to record them. Hope to see you there.

Thanks guys, I am happy you guys like this idea. It was my attempt to help people to share the excitement in an simple and organized fashion.

Months ago during IPT vegas, Tanner had help reporting the event all by himself. It was a big hit for people and I couldn't thank him enough. Unfortunately it can be difficult to dig up those posts today.

(This was a post which collects all 20 layouts by Tanner
http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=38127 )

Instead of focus the performance by the pro, today lots of people decide to talk about something else from that event, (which I think is a great success).

Back to the subject, this Layout Competition idea is the first step in targeting at this issues:

1, Encourage people to share shot layouts from a live event in a simple way.
2, Archive all the shot layouts in a organized fashion

I would like to gather more people in making this a fun yet meaningful thing for our future. If every visitor (of online community) can submit just one layout from DCC2007 (more the better), we shall have a lot of shots from the event to talk over for years. That is a great asset for people.

Plus, with generous support from Diamond Billiard Products, participants might be able to win a few days of free lunches from doing less than 3 minutes of fun work.

Please spread the good words and take parts in this wonderful thing.

As always, any comments or suggestions are welcome and appreciated
