Have you called this Dan on the phone? You should be calling him and the Bret guy everyday all day. You got one guy on this thread saying Dan is only 90 miles from him and is willing to do something to help you. You should look into that. I'd love to see the look on the guys face when someone shows up on his door saying where is the money or cues.

Again thanks for the support Josh. Don't worry, this thread is merely the beginning, not the end. However calling all day every day would be counterproductive, I'm in Europe and calls cost like 1$ starting fee, I'd be out of my $225 in no time.

I used Western Union to buy a Gracie cue directly from Apple Grace and the transaction went without a hitch....

Sorry to hear of the difficulties with this deal, but be patient... I think this will work out with you getting a new cue....

If you're a buyer on the up and up there's usually no problem however Western Union is a scammers delight....;)
 
Yes it is a scammer's delight, without a doubt. Western Union rep told me to use an escrow service or PayPal when I was buying a lens a while ago and the seller only accepted western union bank transfers, to stay on the safe side. Western Union transfers are like giving someone money without any kind of receipt or contract, and they can't do anything about it.
 
Hey guys,

It's certainly true that Western Union isn't very safe. But then the same goes for paypal and so on. It comes down to trust really, and I'd say at least 99% of the people are trustworthy (I'm approaching 100 deals on AZ, so I know) and the other 1% well, just plain dumb.

Payal is ten times safer than Western Union, at least they offer protection. I've had over 350 transactions through Paypal and never had a problem.
 
Paypal is certainly better, Western Union is pretty much the same as sending someone cash in a letter. Nothing is bulletproof though, but Western Union at least did what I paid them for. I can only hope Dan will do the same. He still hasn't been online here or answered my emails since I started the thread, so we have to wait and see for now.

I am not local to Dan or Bret, but I will be happy to call them everyday for you. In the US cell phones have free long distance and I have free cell minutes, so I can call him a few times a day to try and get some information for you. That way you are not out all the money you are paying for long distance fees.

PM me his contact info and as many details about the deal as you can remember if you are interested.
 
Post his number so we all can call we can help each other out every now and then.

I looked at his profile and it said last in use or viewed was last night @midnight.

Never use Western Union

Of all of the scams that I have come across almost all of them use Western Union. Never ever use western union. Find another way. There is always another way. Sorry to hear about your loss. Best of luck
 
I'm reluctant to publish Dan's or Bret's full name and address, but that will be the next step in this. Dan still hasn't been online, I'm gonna give him until tomorrow, that's when I'll start pm'ing those that have contacted me allready.

Hi Josh,

No, all of our contact has been thru mail or pm's. Like I wrote International Calls cost a handful from my cell-phone, and up until a week ago Dan was very responsive, never waited more then a day for a response, Now It's been seven days and counting. In fact, I've never called anyone here on AZ regarding a deal we had in the works.

I just meant called him since he has been avoiding you. That's a give in. You send money or a cue and then receive nothing it's an automatic phone call.
 
Good news I hope. Dan has contacted me thru pm and again apologised and assured me this would be taken care of asap.
