Does anyone know roughly the dealer cost on a 7 foot diamond pro am table (3 piece slate)? (chicago area)

Either post on here or PM would be great. Thanks!

3.5k my guess.... now that they got the costs down maybe 3k. Nope we probably have the distributor in the jar so bump 20% Kung Hei Fat Choi! for Distributors pocket.

Nobody will post up real dealer cost here. Perhaps you will get a PM :groucho:

-Kat,

He emailed me about a table.

Why, you expecting to buy a Diamond at dealer cost?
RKC, he had messaged me about a new Diamond and I quoted him the factory price. Not sure why anyone would come on a DIAMOND sponsored public forum and ask some else to post CONFIDENTIAL DIAMOND DEALER PRICING??!!!

Dealers are not supposed to sell new tables for more than MSRP or for less than FACTORY pricing.

Its kind of funny how people think for some reason they should be able to buy things for dealer wholesale prices... Not to mention the elusive "tournament table" for thousands less than new.HHAHAHAHAHA

No different than someone looking to buy Simonis cloth at the cheapest possible price point here on AZ....and WHO sells it the cheapest.

Its one thing to try an get a deal, but, to ask someone to post any company's dealer pricing is ridiculous! Dealers who undercut other dealers compromise the business we are in. It is dishonest and super shady.

Or maybe a dealer told him a price was at or below cost, and he wants to verify that.

What's the difference between dishonest and shady?

Why do we drive on the parkway and park on the driveway?

Want a great deal on a diamond? Keep waiting and looking, you might save a decent chunk and shit, somebody has to have paid the least. Course you hoping is almost definitely gonna cost a lotta time...and you might never get a table.

If you are a dealer for any company, you agree to terms. If you sell below the minimum price set by that company, you are dishonest and shady.

Nothing wrong with trying to get a good deal. Dealers are supposed to adhere to the pricing set by the company's, pretty simple concept. The area between Retail pricing and minimum pricing is fair game. I have the dealer pricing and would not share it with anyone because it is dishonest and shady to do so. End of story

I am intimately familiar with manufacturer/ distributor/ retailer relationships.

All retailers work on roughly a 50% margin. Take 50% off the retail price and you will find the dealer or store price on just about anything, cars, furniture, etc. It really is that simple.

I can say for sure that don't apply with Diamond....LOL

Nope. Furniture and jewelry operate higher than that, but many if not most including cars operate on tiny margins. Grocery store probably 5% or less as an example.

The thing is it really doen't matter, if you ask me what I paid for something I'm selling I'll tell you point blank 'It's none of your damned business'. My price is my price and if you don't want to pay that price then don't buy it. For me it's just that simple.

Not close to being true. Some items, mostly small ones have a big mark up, but most items that cost more than 100 bucks don't have anywhere near that kind of a margin.

what is wrong with wanting to find dealer cost. this way you have a base price to judge how much you may be able to get off of the msrp.
for most things expensive, only a fool pays msrp. as there is always someone someplace that will work with you.

do you know anyone stupid enough to pay sticker price for a new car or boat.

Interesting topic for sure! I didn't mean to step on any toes with my statement, was just responding to the OP question.

Take the MSRP of anything and subtract 50% to get dealer (store) cost, subtract another 40% from that and you arrive at the wholesale cost, furthermore subtract another 50% from that and you will finally get the manufacturing cost.

I completely agree that this doesn't apply to all industries, especially those with a manufacturer direct arrangement, this has only been my experience working in the wholesale distribution industry, feel free to disagree:thumbup:

I design baby products such as high chairs and strollers, etc. Your numbers correspond very nicely to the baby industry as well.

Because DEALERS get dealer cost and it is NONE of the consumers business....

I WISH IT WAS 50% markup! Just so ya know MSRP and Factory pricing/ minimum are the guidelines set forth by Diamond and people that you reference " someone someplace that will work with you." and they sell below the guidelines are dishonest business people.
There are business ethics involved when you make a deal with a manufacturer or wholesaler. The "wiggle room" is set forth when you sign up with the manufacturer or distributor. End of story.

Supply and demand. Some people are looking for a deal and are unsure when they get a different price from every "dealer" they go to. Not to mention YOU dealers are the ones always willing to beat each others prices and are the ones that are stepping on each others toes with this business. These "shady" people you speak of are a part of your dealer community which is why consumers need more information before making a $5k purchase. Seems like something YOU and your dealer community need to solve.
