just curious if anyone has dealt with sam engles (specifically) or spintheball?

i made a verbal deal for $900 with sam via phone last week. as of now, he has not followed thru and wont return phone calls or emails (spintheball) about the deal. sam wanted the case and his buddy, spintheball, wanted the cue.

any comments/advice are appreciated....

i have had a lot of great dealings here with the azers and i hope this is a one time thing.

this total lack of a spine shown is not very appealing for business.

merry xmas,

Brian,

I have had many dealings with Sam. Nothing but great things to say about him! You might be experiencing delays due to the Christmas rush. I have had three cues arrive late this last week. One was sent via Priority Mail, which never takes longer than three days, and it took over a week to arrive. Both myself and the seller were getting concerned about it, but it finally showed up. Sam might also be out of town for the holidays, as well.

I'm not trying to excuse anything, but I have dealt with Sam for a long time, and have never had one bad deal. Good luck and Happy Holidays!

Brian,
Did you already send the cue and case? I hope this turns out, OK for you.

Brian,

Sam has followed through with me on our dealings, no problem. I don't know the story on the Indy Q, but I don't think it's been substantiated by others that I recall.

My opinion is that he is a very nice guy with good intentions. I am sure he will contact you one way or the other.

No Problems

I have personally dealt with Sam and he will not do you wrong. If anything he always tries to make things right. Be patient and you should not have any problems.

Well considering i have talked with him and he tends to play at the same room i play at i can tell you he is a STAND UP GUY. have never known he to be otherwise and he is very quiet about his cases heck i didnt even know he made cases until about a month ago LOL. Im at my familys out of town or i would have already shipped the 2 cases i had for sale on here off. But the thing with indy cue was taken care of cause i asked sam about it about a month ago and from what i was told is he has a reciept showing what he sent was delivered. Anyhow hopes it all works out for you which with Sam envolved i know it will.

Picture a teddy bear that can build cue cases and is super nice and you have Sam LOL

Brian,

FYI I sent Sam an e-mail a few days ago about this. I haven't heard back from him yet either. Steve probably has done the same.

i want to thank everyone that has responded to my inquiry and i do hope this is just a big misunderstanding.

i have rec'd more positives than negatives. yet i do still feel a 1 minute phone call could have taken care of all of this is what should have happened here.

thanks again to everyone that responded.:)

 i still havent heard one peep from him....no phone call or email....

i hear he will be at the derby...i hope to see him to ask him what happened...

so basically, i wouldnt deal with him unless it was in person and everything in the deal was right in front of you....

Could be possible he told you he wanted it assuming his buddy was taking the cue. If his buddy is not coming through then he may not be able to either. I do agree a phone call would make you feel a lot better by knowing what is going on.

good point but Sam did say that he would keep the cue even if his buddy ended up not wanting it....

lastly, sam just recently sold a scruggs on ebay for 1800....unless that guy didnt pay up (which i doubt considering his feedback), he had the funds...

ive heard through the grapevine that sam is having some personal problems.

give him a chance.

ive heard nothing but good things from this guy.

good luck.
