Deano

As always, you say things well. Dean was wrong on the jackpot deal. He made a move to help a friend overlooking the people he wasn't treating right. Having had a good look at a schmelke I know that corners are cut. I would be pissed if I bought one with it represented as something else. Still, I miss Dean, his stories, and the color he brought to the forum.

While I don't care for some other things, I have to wonder how many people are playing with schmelke blanks and don't know it? Many a cue smith uses their blanks to build custom cues. If a cue smith isn't building his own blanks I think a customer deserves to know but they are probably getting a better blank from schmelke than most cue builders can build themselves.

those two statements contradict each other I think.
I have a Schmelke cue where would I look to see a short cut?
I'm not arguing just trying to get educated.
I also have a Troy Downey cue ,could I compare the two and see short cuts?

Well like I said, and many Forum Members had dealing with Deanoc.

Most will only say good things about the man!

Wonder how many who cry cry cry about the JackPots bought one from Deanoc.

Like I said the Eye of Hawaii has two.

I have asked serveal if knuckleheads trashing Deanoc questions, but all they do attack me because MY PERSONAL BUYING/SELLING EXPERIENCE WITH DEANOC WERE POSITIVE.

Schmelke make a great Cue capable of running balls.

Schmelke is like Chevrolet, and people like Ferrari’s, Austin Martin’s, any the hgh dollar cars better.

Reason is driving a Cheverlot is no attention getter, like if you drive up in Baggatti. 🥰

I never invested with Bernie Madoff but have the opinion it was bad business now that the facts are out.

WTF?? He flat-out lied about the origin of the cues. Sold what is basically a 250-300dollar cue for 600. I know used car dealers with more integrity. Please.

They weren't jack pots they were schmelke s lol
Guess what, Saturns were actually General Motors cars, some Fords like the Probe were actually Mazdas, 10's of thousands of car parts are made by one company and marketed by another company under a different name. It also happens with tools, lawn and garden equipment, lubricants, chemicals, etc, so what?!????!!?
If Schmelke was OK with someone selling and/or marketing a cue they made as a Jackpot everyone else should be OK with it too. I also happen to know for a fact that one of our local nationwide big name cue manufacturers gets help with their shafts from another local cue builder, big deal, does that mean that the shafts should not be sold under the name of this particular nationwide cue manufacturer???

Read post above. A lot of companies profit off of the goods they sell, its called capitalism.

Remember long ago a Member who has since died had several Cuemakers do him s derive of price point Cues.

Name of line was Three Initials, people who bought were happy.

The Min demand to know who were the Cuemaker doing the price point Cues. Tommie1351 never told, as he had agreement with Cuemakers to hid there names.

Tommie1351 was good guy.👍

he was never a thief or outright cheat, like some that came here. he had fun conning and playing with the members on the forum. he didnt do it for the money just for the fun of it at the members expense who couldnt see through it. the money was secondary. thats my assertion.

he finally went too far as he tried pushing it to see how far he could get. the backlash sent him packing. at least for the time being.

I don't understand some of the members here, even though they may have never bought one of the infamous Jackpots let alone done any business with Deanoc whatsoever they just cant keep their rude comments or their not very funny wisecracks to themselves. Same thing happens with RKC, if one person gets their Pampers in a wad then everyone shows up with their rude comments. Why is it so hard for people to stick to things that concern themselves?? Probably a case of they just like to hear themselves. Same thing happens if someone puts up a post about being unhappy with a cue they are having made, everyone not involved demands that the unhappy cue buyer outs the cue maker. They seem to forget that their are 3 sides to every story, side A's truth, side B's truth, and the real truth which nobody seems to actually care about, they just want someone that they can lambast until they have blisters on their typing fingers. I never had any dealings with Deanoc but it seems like he sold a lot of cues and had many happy customers, Im not going to insult him or tell him how to do business because..........I know this is foreign to a lot of people here and may seem strange but............ its none of my effing business.

That isn't what dean did though

I think some felt he took advantage of that goodwill and acted in a dishonest manner. I fail to see how not dealing with him or falling for the Jackpot scheme means that a forum member can't comment on forum issues.

There are 3 sides here: one finds his behavior distasteful, one thing KS he can do no wrong and a third thinks only a certain group is allowed to have an opinion. Nobody is going to be changing their mind.

The shenanigans involved in the Jackpot are well documented. If someone bought one and thinks it is a great deal and isn't bothered by the tactics then good for them. I never bought a cue from him but formed an opinion based on other forum interaction well before things started to Schmell to high heaven.

Glen starts strawman arguments with the Air around him and isn't happy until someone even slightly challenges his nonsense so he can rant about it for days...but seems to know how to set up a table.

I kind of agree with this and do think he had a lot of fun with the forum but not sure he really conned anyone until the Jackpot crap. I never have figured out his motivation. I don't really know the guy other than a couple dealings but I got the impression that he had a comfortable life, retired, nice house, nice collection of pool things and just don't see how making a couple hundred bucks on those cues would've really meant much to him in the big picture. I find the whole Jackpot thing very strange. He definitely had some great back-in-the-day stories that were a nice contribution here.

Difference is they didn't hide the facts of who made the cars. Dean told everyone on here that J. Potter was involved in making the cues. FALSE. Later he used the name of another cuemaker as being part of the charade. Again, FALSE. Keep defending him like that nutjob cocoloco.

Deano sure spammed the hell out of the main forum when he was pushing those cues .
He went on and on and on about those cues .
In the end, it was a bad venture .
Even if they were decent cues .

Well did you buy Jackpot? I was not aware of the Jackpot until the drama started.

I believe Dean & Potter came up with idea, design, wood selection, etc.

Then outsourced the actual Cues.

Like my buddy who design products he sells, but have other do the actual manufacturing.

Does Jim McDermott even make Cues any longer, think he has people doing that to his specs.

Like I said maybe the Jackpot, are not listed for sale, as owner love em like Eye of Hawaii does.
