Dechaine vs Krause

Mickey's game jumped up an entire level last year. He is now hanging with the elite pros.
Prime Mike would be a good game but he's going to need some major rolls to make this a close match today imo.
I wish him the best. I truly would like to see him get back into form and rededicate himself to the game.

Mike can win with his "A" game, but we haven't seen it in quite some time. None of us know what Mike has done to prepare for this match, but it would be awfully hard to pick a part-time pro over a full-time pro. I predict Mickey 21 Mike 13.

Mike played in the Maine State 9-ball tourney at Forest City in early December, and of course won. Besides himself, there were 5 others rated above 700 in the tourney, so not a ton of top level competition for him. (Highest being 746)
95 players in the tournament.

My gut is telling me Mike has no chance. I'm open to a $100 sweat bet.
I'll take that just for fun if the entire match is streamed . Payable via Venmo, CashApp or Zelle. I have a thread posted in the live stream forum with my real name.

MD claimed a comeback was in the works and then amazed everyone with mediocrity. Would love to see him actually make a comeback, he is one of the few non-robots left.
Yes, the comeback was short lived. It was tough to walk away from a job that offers great pay, vacations, health insurance, 401k, etc. I also struggled with the new WNT break format. All in all, 9 ball is a much different game now from when I was competing. I hope Matchroom continues their success and the sport grows. If I am able to see a great return on investment, I will screw the cues back together and commit 100% towards it!

I hope you have fun and play well!

You'll be back in form before you know it.

Tough crowd you is. SVB won both the WC and WPM on foreign soil. Not exactly 'sucking'.
On the contrary. Yes, the word "sucks" is unfair, but Shane's overseas record is far from what you'd expect of a hall of famer. WPM is not even close to being a major, but yes, he broke through at the 2022 World Championship at age 38 in England. His performance at the China Open, which has often featured a tougher field than that of the US Open 9-ball (and is at least as tough to win), and the All-Japan has been very disappointing and why he couldn't get it done overseas was a common topic on the AZB forum for years.

I'm wondering whether they are racking the one on the spot. For pretty much all of Dechaine's career, the one was racked on the spot, and it seems unlikely he agreed to anything else.

Your break was maybe only second to SVB's, surely you can figure it out! But yeah, I see your point, not much return on that investment right now.

You made the correct choice.

There's still no future in pool unless you're Filler or Fedor at the moment.

You're in a great position to play occasionally if you still love the game and not have to worry about eating or your future.
