when i was younger ,times were different
some of the political correctness that is is so common today was

i wish i had seen mike play in the pool rooms i grew up in
it would have been so much fun to watch different cultures
interacting with one another

Just had to chuckle over this one...you mean Mike maybe wouldn't have been buddies with a guy named Turk??

On March 4th Mike did a live video stream on Facebook. He answered questions from the chat while practicing. He said he was now shooting with a Southwest cue. He said something along the lines of OB was great to him but he needed to try a different cue.

Find his Facebook page, and then go to the Videos section

Thanks Jeff.

Watched the video and he did mention his Southwest.

Other nuggets were that Dennis Orcollo has his number, and that he preferred Diamond tables over Gold Crowns because of their consistency. The Gold Crowns are very mechanic dependent while the Diamonds all play the same.

Same thing Ernesto Dominguez says publicly about the tables.

I laughed when Mike told Rodney to be a professional and not watch him rack. Rodney called him a cheater for touching the one ball after the rack was removed. Then the commentator went on to explain how touching the one ball creates spaces and wires balls into the corner. The exchange between the two was funny and the post game handshake was a real treat especially when Rodney was walking away from Mike toward the booth and said "screw him." lol.

Was that this years DCC tournament?

I love how the thread back tracks when Mike comes on and says something.
All this '' thanks mike, I respect you mike'' is a load d B.S. I've read countless
threads that bash him into the ground.
Thats one thing I cannot stand is people not confronting the person
they talk sh-t about but will clam up and slither away. Brutal!!

LOLOL, very true
And most are using monikers and not their real names
:D

I was a hater, then that defunct hustler show made me a fan. He was funny. Best part was when he was on the streets trying to pick up girls. Funny as hell.

There is a nice way to handle everything. Some pros have managed to not get involved in constant problems with other people for 20 years.Love his game.Don't like the way he goes about it sometimes.

Not for nothing ,but I've seen at least 5 top US players antagonize Mike in a match. When he was breaking into the top 5 in the country, there was a lot of hazing..at this point it's all made him stronger. He's not worried about what the haters think. To continue to bash a guy like him who has a few decades left as a star player is counterproductive. All these pros have their issues. It's called being human...which is magnified 20 fold under the heat of competition.

Everyone except Alex. Everyone loves him and he just has fun....oh, and kicks ass while doing it.

I like Mikes game. At times I've winced looking at antics over the last few years though. Like his game though

Alex IS the man! He's definitely a GREAT role model for pool players when it comes to his game and demeanor at the table!

To me he is the next Efren! My favorites anyway.

Sounds like there needs to be a reform to the Unsportsmanlike Conduct rules section. Personally I can't stand watching Mike shoot. He shows no respect towards his opponents, the rules or the game. I know the saying "wearing your heart on your sleeve" but I think he takes it too far, too often. Plus his tone of voice with his constantly raised chin gives of the "I'm better than you" attitude when it's not needed. I'm not trying to hate on him, but he does a damn good job of making it super easy to do so.

Sounds pretty typical of his behavior. He has no class and without his racking shenanigans, he has fewer wins. What he does have is a lot of hot air.

He is a really great player, and I bet that he does not need any unfair advantages (or so called moves) in order to beat anyone in the world. I think he is right up there with the very best in the world . I do not know, but I bet that many other players do the same so called moves that you guys are accusing him of.

It's just a mild form of cheating, but the rule for "Unsportsmanlike Conduct" does not apply to some players.
If the refs had testicles larger than raisins, they'd disqualify players like Dechaine that pull this crap and then you might see player's attitudes change about manipulating the rack.
