Dee Adkins and Shane Winters, how would you handicap that match?

I'm trying to lean how to handicap matches better. What do you think the game needs to be for these two to play as close to 50/50 as possible. Game is 1 Pocket. I watched them play tonight and I'm curious how you guys think the game should have been.

Never seen either play, but based on past accomplishments I would say Dee Adkins is the favorite, just don't know how big a favorite?

I guess it doesn't have to be those two guys... I just watched the game, so it's fresh in my mind. It could be, say, Efren and Earl playing 1 hole. What would that game have to be for it to be dead even? Jeanette Lee playing 10 ball with Rodney Morris, race to 33?

Or SVB playing Brumback in banks? It's really just to get an idea of how you guys handicap matches.

Do you know how hard it really is to get a dead even game, between 2 players.

The main reason why, cause most players and gamblers are not looking for a dead even game.

But i do understand what you are asking 8, every once and awile you will find a very close match-up, where the winner just barely got there.

But as you know most the time big match ups are usually not very close in the final score.

The most evenest match-up of all time would have to be Earl vs Efren in the color of money, that match had it all, lead changes, some of the best pool playing ever, big leads and big come backs!

You are playing in a poolroom where a great game handicapper goes.
I'm sure you know free advice is worth just that usually.
You seem to want to gamble and be in action, if I were you , I would talk to Chris Bartrum and see what he would charge to put me up to speed.
I don't know if he would be willing to do that , I'm just saying , that would be my move.

I guess experience will help, but I would say earl needs 9-7 from efren, Jeanette lee needs 10 on the wire to 33 with Rodney and svb and brumback would play even...

Damn..didn't know that was you Greg...How long u been in Ohio ? You been around pool down here long enough..you should have a good idea by now.

I know one thing

Shane Winters doesnt make bad games. I like his game and that he will get in the box with anyone as long as he feels he can win. We need more players like this, at all levels.

Dee Adkins was/is a great player.
I remember when Corey Deuel was around 14 and on the road. He was being tutored by Dee both times I seen him out in a few different years at that age.

Dee probably don't play as much nowadays so the younger crowd is not as familiar with him, but he's definitely no one to take lightly. He can beat anyone at any given time.

Since 2008 dude...

And yes, I started playing pool like 30 years ago, but the problem is I've been away from it for so long that I've forgotten just about everything. Well, that and the fact that alcohol kills brain cells.

Well, that and you need to understand that when it comes to Houma, yes... I can handicap every player in that town. I've seen them all shoot pool 1,000 times. I did my share of staking down there, but moving into the "bigger" world outside of South Louisiana, I'm curious as to how other people are looking at the games and handicapping them. Plus, I'm doing a lot more staking than I am playing now, seeing as I've had 3 shoulder reconstructions now and I'm convinced my stroke stayed at High Tide in 1999.

It's all the same...every pool hall in every town got people that remind you of guys at your home town room only diff shapes & sizes...only way to know is to watch with your own eyes...listen to people you trust...then test the waters :D

Dee has a DCC All Around to his credit. That's strong. No idea how he is playing now.

Anything i knew about Shane, I forgot.

why worry with weight to start out with, they are both great players, let them make an adjustment after they play some, who are some of the players in common that they have played, that might tell you who needs a spot, does one play one pocket more then the other

Tim said to look him up when u get back to town & he'll play you a couple sets...he don't have a account on here but reads it from time to time & he seen this thread...said yall prob playing close..He just getting back into hitting a few balls cuz he takes off for hunting season..said yall could adjust either way after 2 sets.
