Delta Elite Pool Racks

Anyone interested in getting a Delta Elite Rack and how much would you spend?

If there were a sufficient number of interested Forum buyers, I could approach a
supplier otherwise the best price looks like $140 shipped (color choice) on ebay
sans any leather inserts. Perhaps one of the pool suppliers that carry this rack
would entertain discounting from their standard price if there were enough of us?

I know this was done a couple of years ago with Diamond on the bulk purchase
of sets of Cyclop pool balls in both versions and the savings was significant too.
If you are interested, send me a PM and let me know what your max price is. If
we could get more than a dozen orders, it would be worth finding out if we could
arrange a discount.....an order for 15-20 racks isn't chump change.....everyone
would have to pay the cost of shipping but USPS flat rate isn't that much.

Anyway, the racks at the pool halls tend to be of poor quality and leave loose racks.
I have several Magic Racks but I do not like the flat plastic rack and actually enjoy the
act of racking pool balls........that's how I learned the game and grew up playing pool.
The Magic Rack isn't my cup of tea but admittedly does provide a tighter formation.

If you are seriously interested, then drop me a PM and let me know your max price.
Obviously, if there's a small number of potential buyers, say under a dozen, I don't
think it's adequate to be earnestly considered for a lower price, if one can be arranged.

p.s. I'm interested in a metallic blue or black version with leather inserts (FYI).

Well crap.

I just bought one along with a set of Aramith Tournament balls from Seyberts.

i also recommend getting the leather inserts if you are getting a delta rack
makes the noise bearable
great rack
matt no offense intended but you buy cues for thousands
and to save i dont know 20-even 50 dollars you want to have the hassle of coordinating a group purchase???...:confused:
commendable to want to do it and help others get a discount...

I've had one before I'm trying to see if the inserts amember here still L sells them. The ones delta makes are fugly.

I made this video with the inserts that were sold here on the forum.

They screwed up and didn't think of the noise factor. Then they want you to pay $35 for inserts to some what correct it. Plus, the paint chips on them. Johnnyt

PS: Yes I bought one.

bbb.....you make a great point.........it really does not comport very well.
I'd spend $500 on a set of joint protectors but won't spring for the price
difference for a new Delta Elite Rack.

I think it's because I think of the pool racks as being machine milled & made
whereas my cues involved hands on workmanship where flaws & mistakes
by the cue-maker would become apparent. I think of that as craftsmanship
and cue-making skills while the Delta pool rack doesn't impress me that way.

I know there's materials & equipment costs, finishing, etc. involved making the
pool rack but I don't think the building/assembly involves anything comparable
with one of my cues so I don't assign the same value to it. I am the same way
about my cues in this sense. Every cue I've bought or had made was acquired
at a price I found to be reasonable & more than fair. The Delta racks just seem
to be over-priced to my way of thinking......$190-200 with inserts from some of
the websites. To be candid, I'd never overpay for a pool cue and I am not about
to start that practice buying a Delta Elite at full list price.

bbb......as I earlier acknowledged, I know it doesn't appear to make sense. I'm the
same way with Centennial pool balls.......I own 3 sets......2 new ones sitting in my
closet.....I won't pay $300 for a set, or $275 or $250....not even $225....but I will
buy more than one when the price is attractive at $200 per set. But a set of the
Centennials is overpriced at full retail or anything close to that, and I won't pay it.

Obladi Oblada.......perhaps I'll find someone selling one on ebay..........Okay then,
let's forget about a group buy and everyone just can prowl on their own if they want.

Thanks for the replies.

I have used the Delta racks and the Magic racks. I've also grown up with the standard wood racks.

While the Delta racks are cool, I do think they make a lot of noise and not near as tight of a rack as the magic racks. I agree with johnnyt that paying for the inserts is just another way to get more money out of you.

I think if they were cheaper, I might be able to see past the noise and extras that you can/have to buy for them.

My two cents..

:grin::grin::grin::grin-square::grin-square:

I got a deal for an elite rack a few months ago....$99 shipped. I made my own leather inserts for no cost....a local upholstery shop had lots of scrap leather pieces free for the asking. Mitch

I have the Delta 13 Elite rack. It was costly but I would not say its over priced because its machine made. It is a very precision machined piece of aluminum. I know that I could not hand fit the screw on corners to the straight sections of rack as well as Delta does with their machines. I dont know if the racks are billet or cast but if billet they need a lot more material to make those racks than what you see. Even if they are cast they need to be cast first, then finish machined, and then sent off to anodizing before final assembly and ready for purchase.

I"ve yet to even see one of these racks? I don't know anyone that has bought one yet ??

It is pretty obvious I share his views and the funny part I really do not have a specific, firm price in mind either.

I think at current retail pricing, the Delta Elite Rack is overpriced & like RJ posted, you don't see many around.

I won't pay that much for that pool rack & I'm likely not in the minority either otherwise it would be more popular.

I bought a Select. It works great, and I'm going to cut my own leather inserts from an old belt at some point. The noise doesn't bother me too much.

No sir. I bought mine brand new from a dealer. After a few weeks the paint started chipping. I called the company that made them. The owner said there was a problem with the finish on the first few runs and to just buy some black nail polish and touch it up. I said good-bye and thanks for nothing, and hung up. Johnnyt

Was that the Elite or cheaper model?

Sorry i went back to look. it was TommyT that bought it.

Hey I was close. lol

Way too damn expensive for a rack.

I've used one and it isn't worth what they ask for it, IMHO.

Get an Accu-Rack and don't look back!

I've had mine for a couple years and it hasn't worn out yet.
