deluxe headstock found on Ebay

To stop any confusion. This is NOT a Deluxe Cue Smith headstock.
It is not manufactured by Cue Man Billiard Products or any of the manufacturers that Cue Man has build the Cue Smith products.
I have no idea of the quality of the product or how well it aligns on center with our parts, but it is not one of our headstocks.

I Knew That!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those who are near the army sell at high prices.Because of high prices, the wealth of the common people is exhausted.

I know for a fact that the headstock in question came of a used hightower enlay machine, it might be an older model and missing the 3-jaw chuck, but i am pretty sure it was made by hightower.

Its funny how you guys jump on every chance to discredit any (non hightower) Cue Lathe related posts

Since you know this to be a fact I apologize for assuming this was not one of my headstocks. I assumed this because all the other headstocks Anthony has sold were not my headstocks, but were mearly copies. Maybe this is the one he used to make the copies of. The first copies he made looked identical to mine from the front just like this one does. You had to see the back side to know the difference. By the way Anthony did not say it was one of my headstocks. It was the original poster on here that implied it was when he used the word Deluxe. I don't remember building a inlay machine with the large headstock, but I am not saying I never did.

its funny to me how the only thing you ever contribute to these post is what you are selling, the next thing you contribute is an argument, in which you are incorrect....:sorry:....just sayin

Geez sorry i posted this guys i didnt want it to turn into a huge deal, i thought it was one of chris' headstocks but i was mistaken.

just thought that if someone was putting together a lathe it would be a good deal.

A. Knowing for a fact and being pretty sure aren't the same.

B. When you copy and paste specs on YOUR lathe and then won't answer specific legitimate questions is when discredit is earned.

this is my last one i had laying around.the one up top is one i picked up awhile back this is the one for sale, the one underneath is the one i build.priced to sell fast.easy up grade to your repair lathe, this is a 1 3/8 thru hole dual headstock.will fit on any taig / hightower type machine.if you want a 3 jaw chuck for it i have a slightly used one for $50.thanks for looking, buy it now have it on tues/wed.if your wanting the one underneath there $495........thanks for looking

It is not clear from his ebay post if he made the one for sale or purchased it from someone. He does say he made the bottom headstock and that headstock is not for sale.
Anything else is just accusation and conjetcure.

Like any ebay item, buyer be ware if you are not familiar with the seller or product.

Based on eBay ad- he didn't build the top one, he picked it up a while back! He did build the bottom one and those can be purchased for $495! He never said it was a Hightower, Taig, aftermarket or whatever, but he did say it fits on the Taig and/or Hightower lathes... doesn't say it's centered on there, but fits!

Too many people jump to conclusions and don't read what's written! Words can be manipulated very easily!

Momma makes some kick-A soup but you've got to stir the pot.
Oh, I see you're already doing that.
Are you going to buy some soup or are you just into stirring?

NO SOUP FOR YOU!!!

Oh I think the poster who is more of an "expert" on Hightower Lathes, than Chris Hightower himself, is doing enough stirring for everyone.:thumbup::thumbup:

i hope you dont mean me??????

and also i think everyone on here needs to remember that all the cue building equipment is TAIG based. not hightower based.

chris hightower deserves all the recognition he recieves for finding a good base and providing good dedicated cue building equipment when there wasnt much out there for people trying to get started in cue building.

this post wasnt meant to start a war about who buit what and everything thing thats going on in it.

FACT: this headstock came from TAIG i know this for a FACT ive talked to the owner of it on the phone about it.

it matches up on the dovetail perfectly and works the same as chris' theres some very slight diffrences but at such a huge discont compared to new i figured this would be something someone could use to make a cheap lathe, all you have to do is get a couple cheap componets and your in there.

TAG a user that posted on the first page could sell you the dovetail and a carriage and crosslide tailstock and steadyrest at a reasonable price and for a fraction of what other lathes cost.

from now on ill try and keep my good findings for myself and choice people since this has turned into a bash session.

QUOTE]
When I design something and put some Taig parts on it that is a Hightower Cue Smith based machine, not a Taig based machine. I was building cue machinery years before I ever used a Taig part on anything. I use some of their parts and that secret has been out of the bag for many years. But when someone copies some of my none standard Taig parts, they are making a Hightower knock off, not a Taig knock off. When they copy Taig's parts they are making a Taig knock off. I hope that clarifies my position. And I have no hard feelings against you for posting this thread. I think people got carried away with comments on here and I hate to see that happen.
