Dennis Orcullo banned from USA for five years

If you read his profile on Wickapedia, and Celebrity worth he is rich by Philippines standards.

But he is also a 3rd Grade Graduate, shit hr was educated in way of world in travels.
Sorry if this has already been asked, I'm just now reading this. What is your education level?

Don’t worry about me I retired long ago, and keep track of thing I need do on paper note.

Back in day we used pad & pen or pencil to keep To Do Lists.

Maybe something they should teach in schools world wide.

Dennis’s second goof, guess he will have time to educate self on home to keep visa in order.

Great Pool player, poor organizer.

I'm sorry but you are incorrect here. You should read his post #304 to find out why his visa status was changed, and he was banned for five years. It's right there in the first long sentence. His problem was that he was coming here to often on his six month visas and returning too soon for another six months. In a four year period he spent 75-80% of his time in this country. I doubt that many people are aware that this could constitute a violation if he kept getting new six month visas.

Not to worry though, there is a group of us who have gotten together and will be retaining the best Immigration lawyer we can find. Our goal being to get him either a P-1 or O-1 visa. That would remove his current restrictions if we are successful, and we will be!

Well I appreciate the clarification of the why this all happened. Hope you able to accomplish your mission to help him get over this life hurdle. Plus get new Visa. Dennis is lucky to have people willing to help, hope he gets how lucky he is.

Know dealing with most Federal agencies is a big pain, as many employees do not care, only put time in for check, can not be removed for incompency, and last are protected by labor groups.

It's too bad they got caught in that rule. Although I thought most knew about it. I've heard about for years from the Canadians that spend their winters in Florida.

Wonderful to hear. Like most in this thread, I want to see Dennis Orcullo playing pool in the United States sooner rather than later. I know that when I arrive at Derby City about two weeks from now, it won't feel quite right in the absence of the best all-around player in the game today. It's a shame for Dennis, and also a shame for any serious fan of the pro game.

Wishing you and all members of Dennis' support team the very best of luck as you strive to make things better for him.

This 'abuse of status' doesn't happen a lot but it is real. Most that have a B1/B2 generally have lengthy stays in home country and shorter visits abroad. People that come here and stay, say 5+ months on a regular basis can get into the same jam as Dennis.

Thanks for the info Jay. Dennis is a good dude and we all want to see him playing and supporting himself again using his ability to play top level pool.

Why? Its pretty clear what happened. Its generally called 'abuse of status'. Whenever you come here and stay a fairly long time(say 4+ mos) each trip and then go home for a short stay and then return again you will have a problem with immigration. To be safe one usually needs to stay home for a good 8mos or more before returning. Travel Visa's are not intended to be used as a virtual citizenship. Yes, you can stay 180days but you need to stay in home country a while before re-entering. Dennis gambled with the system and lost.
Too much speculation and innuendo here. “The facts mam just the facts,” Joe Friday (Dragnet).

These are the facts and they are indisputable.

Laws apply to everyone, inless your connected like Clinton’s.

Sad news I guess, but at least they DHS did not put guy in jail, or prision.

People get turn around by DHS daily, for visa & passports that are not kosher.
Want to explain your comment "Laws apply to everyone inless your connected like Clinton's?" Could we leave the political bullshit at home please?

Better off with a P-1. O-1 is only good for 3rs. with a 1yr extension. P-1 is 5 with up to a 5yr extension. As much as he plays here he outta just apply for citizenship.

There was never a doubt Denis would get a solid amount of help from you Jay as well as others. He’s a important part of pool in America and works his ass off to support his people in the Pi. He’s not a criminal or doing anything wrong here. He wins-he collects, he loses he pays. Honorable. Oddly enough I don’t even know him, but I’m sure glad he has the support of the right people.

I’m still betting the under 5 years in this, if anyones interested.

Best

I hope so. When you get sideways with DHS/immig. they hold all the good cards.
