derby city action

Jimmy Mataya was playing $100 a game 10ball with some guy that I didn't know.

Sarah

How did it look like Jimmy was playing (not "how" as in, was there any weight involved. I mean, was he playing good, bad, whatever)?

In contrast - the 1 hole games between the young guns seemed to average about five minutes each. I have never seen more wide open shotmaking - go fo it all raise the bet one pocket in my life.

Thanks John and Sarah. To give Joyner a ball and beat him Efren must be the best one pocketer on the planet

I'll lay 5:1 that you are correct with that statement yoga. But, I'll turn around and lay 10:1 that match wasn't on the square. No inside info here, just skeptical.

I find your comment inappropriate, except the part where you referenced the fact that you don't actually know anything.

You get what you pay for...

So tell me the inappropriate part, pigy...

Just b/c pool has an underbelly doesn't mean we don't still love it. But to deny that the double cuts exist is wrong.

Or do you have Efren on such a pedestal that you couldn't imagine him taking the guaranteed $2,500 against the possibility that he might not see a dime of it.

Now if you have Cliff on that pedestal, I need to introduce you two, b/c he'd love you.

Richie Richison(sp?) got stomped by a roadie named Jet(?)
from chicago--banks race to 7 long rack for I think 2000
what a crowd though!

I don't think Efren was giving Cliff a ball. I think they were playing Efren races to 8 and Cliff races to 7 and it went hill-hill. I forgot about the bank game with Richeson and Jet. Jet isn't much of a roadie but he plays if someone comes through Chicago. You can usually find him stirring up trouble around the city.

Eric Durbin played Steve Oaks straight-up one pocket for 15 hours at 2 dimes a game. I believe the match ended up even.

hey poolplayer could you try ti find out who the kid from new york was thanks alot

> I was up there for a few hours Friday night. Scott was playing Mike from Nashville (the one that looks like Larry Bird) giving him the break and ball in hand on the first shot, but had to play safe if he ran 4(4-stop I guess you'd call it),but never did hear how it came out. Durbin was playing Brumback, and Tony Watson and Steve McAnnich were playing 9 ball when we left. Watching action like that kinda makes me sick at times,as I don't have the disposable income that these guys have,or a high rolling backer, but would be willing to post it up with anyone if I did and was offered a game I liked. Oddly enough,I despise gambling in it's purest form, but how else do you get people to play hard? Tommy D.

So Efren was giving Cliff one game on the wire in a race to 8? Also Sarah who is Ricky Byrd? Player or just gambler?

Tonight Keith and Lil John played scotch doubles against Chris Barchum (sp?) 8 ahead for mulitple thousands. They lost. Shannon was barking at Efren about getting 9:7 but they didn't play. Something bigger was going on earlier but I didn't catch it. Lot's and lots fo $20-$200 a game action going on. Tonight kind of seemed like the eye of the hurricane while the bank/one pocket players were thinning out and the nine ball players were arriving.

John - has managed to hold on to his cash for another day. :-))

Ricky Bird is poolroom owner and gambler. He bets pretty high.
I like his end on the games mentioned. He doesnt play that
bad to be getting the break and only go to 3 or 4.

Anyone know how it turned out?

I'm not sure who won between Ricky and Efren but i know Scott beat him for 4 or 5 games. Tonight Alex Pagulayan and John Schmidt played straight pool. John won. Tony Watson and Steve McAnnich played a set for 10,000. Tony won. Lots of woofing so who knows what will happen tomorrow.

I went to bed early at 3:00am and woke up $50 ahead on the Schmidt/Pagulayan match. This place is the sweator's dream - it's impossible to take it all in.

John

Good luck to anyone playing straight pool against John Schmidt. Even Alex who is always one of my favorites.

Hay that jhon play stright preaty game good but i like alex in the game .But it all comes down to the rolls.

Hey Deadstroke,

See the above post from Sarah. John beat Alex in their matchup playing straight pool. That guy runs centuries in his sleep.

Koop
