Cant wait

thanks for the info Grady. I was wondering if their might be room for one more bank player and what are the stakes? I would like to see Mr. Fargo in that group, anyone else?:D

gregg

how about that run Brian Gregg put on last year during the bank ring game?
anyone else witness it?

I talked to him right after, man, u wanna talk about being pumped up!

A bank game without Tony Fargo in it is a great loss. Tony doesn't just bank the balls when he gets going, they are arching at the pocket.

Gregg

Yes, I was there and witnessed the great Gregg comeback. Quite a magical moment to be a part of....that place was absolutely crazy! I spoke with Brian right after the game and he was pretty pumped. Then, Efren and Cliff played a big $$$ set from midnight to 5 a.m. on the T.V. table. There still must have been 200 people there watching at 5 a.m. I can't wait to get down there!

It was an amazing display, of banks and heart. I think everyone there was getting pumped up, just watching him.

He is still a little pumped up. I was there also and had a small sweat-bet on Brian. I got Truman and Brian, while the guy got Shannon and Tony Coleman. I was taking the short end of the bet, but anything can happen in a ring game. Having played a little bank-pool with Brian and watching the legendary Truman bank on several occasions, it's a toss up. I guess Brian proved that anything really can happen. Yes, he was definitely on cloud 9 after that come-back. The format is changing a little this year and it will be incredible to be there. One more week. Man the time is dragging by. Can't wait to meet some of you people. Sam

I can't wait to watch those ring games on dvd when they come out.
Does Accu-stats record these? Both ring games are full of great players and I would be interested in seeing the matches too. Thank you.

NO KIDDING Fargo is a great banker

DCC Bank Ring Game

I always take first come, first served and try my hardest to treat everybody the same. If a player called and said he wanted to play and then sent the money, he's playing. We might have enough players to have a second Bank Pool ring game.
The Bank Pool format will be exactly the same this time except that it will be 10 ball rather than full rack.
As far as anybody purchasing DVDs of the last ring games, I can't really answer that. Rob Sykora, of BCN, told me that they hadn't even edited last year's bank game. So, they have it; it's just a question of when you can get it. I understand that Accu-Stats will be filming this year's events.

You can purchase last year's ring games, HERE. They are only available on VHS, though. I would like to see them offered on DVD.

I personally witnessed Brians banking ability last year in the very first match as I was helpless as he beat me sensless. I agree that all mentioned are great, but it goes without saying every year Tony has no takers on his even bank game for 10000 challenge. That guy is a machine when he gets em going. :)

I talked to Tony Fargo last year & asked him why he didn't play in the banks ring game....his reply was that he didn't know anything about it & wasn't invited. I would hope that he would've gotten a phone call or invite this year. When you see Fargo bank it is more of an art form than anything else. He is doing something that most people cannot do. I have never seen another banker be able to make any ball cross side with such consistency and be able to send the cue ball around the table after a hard bank to play shapes for the next one.

Perhaps you and Tony don't understand. The Ring Games are not invitationals. The information was posted in various places that ring games would be played at the Derby City again this year. Players called me, then sent their entry fee. That's how one gets to play.

Without Fargo, my dough is on Shannon. I enjoyed last years final as Matlock who most believed was an underdog in the finals, played good enough to win. He had said he was working out with Tony when they both were playing out of Westwood in Poplar Bluff, MO. I think thats the best pool I have seen Dave play overall.:D
