Destroyed the Ghost today!!!

Ok ok, I know, it's almost like Travis Trotter starting a thread "I beat my dad"... :o

I don't care. I have played terrible the last 3 weeks, but today I finally managed to pocket some balls again. I played the 9-ball Ghost in a race to 9, and I actually destroyed it, winning with my biggest score ever.

I was close to hand the ghost a "donut" (0 games), but I got nervous and fu**ed up position on every shot in the game I lost. Won 9-1 in the end.

I taped it, and now I will try to upload it to my ustream-account so it will be part of the slideshow when people visit my blog.

If you want to see the match, visit my blog roydfish.blogspot.com, scroll down to the "UStream-screen" and I will broadcast the match right now, trying to see if I can figure out how to broadcast pre-recorded matches... I think it will be possible for you to watch it at the same time, but I have no idea if it works... :o

wow thats great!!! it is great to see you doing so good.

I played the 9B ghost myself last nite, I was triple tired. I won the first game and lost the next 2 and stopped playing, I think the final score would have been 9-1 I was so tired. I dont think I can beat it yet even on a soft table(4.6") pockets. Somewhere between the 7 & 8 ball I seem to make one mistake/game and that too many errors to win 50% of the time. Its funny I feel so close to being able to get there but I just cant...yet.

I haven't beat the ghost in a race to 7 since I stopped breaking on a piece of cloth. I can't wait to wear this cloth out so I can get something faster that likes humidity. Johnnyt

That's some fine shooting, Roy! Diligent practice is fun AND it pays off! Congrats!

Hey, maybe we can somehow arrange a trans-Atlantic match between you and your ghost vs JohnnyT and his ghost! We could call it "The Ghost Cup" :)

VIDEO OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!! lol jk , Nice job, and I will look forward to seeing your vid!!

Might be a good idea since Roy has softened him up a bit. Johnnyt

Well, I wanna try "your" ghost because "my" ghost never pay. It's playing with air barrels, and I get fooled every single time...

When will you switch to the big table instead of the babytable? :D

The video is now available in the slideshow-menu at my ustream-tv on the blog.

I said I might get an 8-footer. I have to take baby-steps up to 9'. Johnnyt

Nice job! I have played the 9ball ghost several times in the last month... and never got closer than 11-7. Most times it is more like 11-5. I am thinking about starting a website/blog along with video to document my quest to beat the 9ball ghost.

When I watch the video it goes till right after the 1st break and then freezes up? Anyone else having this problem?

DJ

I couldn't even find it. But I believe he did it.Roy's an honest man. I think he said he would give me the 7 and out with the breaks. Johnnyt

Tried to watch it again on my site, and it froze after 40 seconds, just before I do the kick-shot on the 2-ball...

I just got a msn-message from a guy who finished watching it, so it works for some... strange...

Neil: The Ghost fell asleep today, so it didn't do any thing to shark me ;)

Great shooting Roy. I beat the ghost myself and for the very first time on sat 8-2 and quit winner lol. I think your ghost is a little bit soft though because mine came back with a vengeance the next day and kicked my a$$ 4 straight sets all 7-3. I finally got some dignity back on the 5th winning 7-5 and quit lol. I beleive it's more important in ending my sessions on a positive note right now. I tell ya winning that second set was tough because I wanted to prove to myself so badly that the first one wasn't a fluke.

Yeah, I prefer to end my sessions after performing good too. I hate to walk home after playing bad, I am mad for hours after...

Nice comeback of you. It's a great feeling to win against the Ghost. I change between the 8-ball, 9-ball and 10-ball Ghost, and it's great practise. Always pressure, and it is easy to see if you get any progress or not.

Btw: just tried watching it from www.ustream.tv/channel/roydfish.blogspot.com instead of from the blog, and it doesn't freeze on that site. Don't know why
