Details on AZB room at Derby City

Bringing down the horses

I will be down the finals weekend and try to stop in with Shawn, Corey and Mika. I'm sure Shawn will probably be stopping in durning the week before I get there and I'll tell Corey and Mika to stop in before I get down there.

Master Of The Az Billiards Table

The other question that begs to be answered is will be allowed to bet and pick the Master of the AZ Billiards Table? I've got my pick already.

Just a little worried about the number of contributors (about 70 so far - and I'm STILL GETTING E-MAILS from interested members). Is one table really going to be enough for this many players (even with their attendance being spread out)???????????? I guess if it's too crowded we will learn, and perhaps have more tables next year (or limit participation next year). It is OBVIOUS that people want to PLAY NOT JUST WATCH. This could be fun.[/QUOTE]

Another update (first post in thread amended to reflect current conditions).

More contributors (one more who did not include his screenname in his correspondence, if anyone knows him, please PM me).

Probably close to $1500 so far.

We're thinking that refreshments are going to be too difficult to arrange this year (though next year may be possible) - we are strongly considering having 2 ring games (one the first weekend, one near the end of the week) and giving half of the extra as prize money for these games. We'll keep you posted.

Hey WBM, An alternative to the ring game for prize money is blind draw dutch doubles 8 or 9 ball race to 2 single elimination. Lots of ideas but a limited amount of time...thanks again for your efforts to organize...looks like the room has plenty of support...oh, another idea...a (free) pizza and soda pop night.

Another amendment, more contributors, another with NO screenname - please PM me Richard N. and Delmar N.

Is that Jazznpool volunteering to run out for refreshments one night??? Sounds like an interesting idea, we'll get back to you if you are really volunteering (the volunteers are more of a problem than the finances).

Willie, They must have a zillion pizzas delivered to the Executive West during DCC. Yes, I would voulunteer to coordinate if its a go as long as it is not Tuesday evening. I could make a trip to a local market and pick up a few cases of sodas if need be.

Nope, never made one with wheels and don't plan on it. You have me confused with J & J. The case I am donating is this one.
Jack,
Oldhasbeen wants some wheels and also wants it with a remote control system so he can just sit there and have his case moving around the room. At least that is what he said he wanted in the other thread.:o I think I will never forget that, it is so funny.

I really want a case with wheels and I see that some Justis cases have them. You can't believe what I have done to my regular case. I went to Home Depot and bought 4 wheels, screwed them on a piece of wood and attached it to the bottom of the case. It works pretty well but is a little nosey and too unsightly.

TY & GL

It's possible you saw Chris Cass' Justis Case. Chris made a roller wheel puller for it as his health taxed his ability to lug around the case. I never saw it.

Just a suggestion ..

From someone not going to be there, but you might want
an AZBr to bring a laptop, so scheduling of room, table,
pro appearances, any list needed, or agenda can be
kept track of and displayed.
