I use the polish theory. Wax has carnuba and polish usually doesn't. I actually prefer Dri-wash (One of the original waterless polishers) - because it does NOT build up on the balls or the ball plisher.

Only use it on one side of the ball polisher, for cleaning, then use the other side for shining. Place 8 balls in the cleaning side, use a sponge to apply the cleaner wax while the balls are spinning, only takes a little, then turn it off, insert the sprocket to separate the balls, turn it back on. You'll see the balls speed up when the cleaner wax has been cleaned off the balls. At that time, shut it off, move the 8 balls to the shining side, load 8 more to be cleaned and repeat the process. With the cleaner wax, it only takes about 2-3 minutes to clean the balls. You can pick up the cleaner wax at any auto supply store.

I was just thinking - I am actually in your neighborhood. In a suburb of Indianapolis. If you wanted to get together for a cup of coffee or ??? just let me know.
I do have a cue stick with me but it is a little rusty. I leave early Tuesday Am - and have some plans but also some free time. Just let me know and we can go from there. It might be interesting to see the famous "pool room" in your house.
No big deal either way. e-mail or call - thanks
