Diamond Ball Polisher

I have a Diamond polisher and have experienced good results using Novus #1 spray polish. (based on a recommendation from Brian Miller at Diamond). If balls have really been neglected I will use Novus #2 first.

I let the polisher run for 20 minutes.

SHAME on WilleBetMore - NEVER NEVER NEVER use windex on balls.

I use the polish theory. Wax has carnuba and polish usually doesn't. I actually prefer Dri-wash (One of the original waterless polishers) - because it does NOT build up on the balls or the ball plisher.

MG,
In my defense, it was NOT my idea to use the Windex; the machine belongs to my pro-player friend who MADE me use the Windex (I clean all the equipment before our practice sessions, I love perfect equipment)

Many thanks for the input; I will try to find some Dri-wash (the Aramith ball polish seems to be working well).

You are absolutely correct, this machine is the NUTS.

Indianapolis

To Mr. Williebetmore;

I was just thinking - I am actually in your neighborhood. In a suburb of Indianapolis. If you wanted to get together for a cup of coffee or ??? just let me know.

I do have a cue stick with me but it is a little rusty. I leave early Tuesday Am - and have some plans but also some free time. Just let me know and we can go from there. It might be interesting to see the famous "pool room" in your house.

No big deal either way. e-mail or call - thanks

I use the Maguires cleaner wax, it comes in a red can of paste wax. It won't cause the balls to skid, and they shin real good. Only use it on one side of the ball polisher, for cleaning, then use the other side for shining. Place 8 balls in the cleaning side, use a sponge to apply the cleaner wax while the balls are spinning, only takes a little, then turn it off, insert the sprocket to separate the balls, turn it back on. You'll see the balls speed up when the cleaner wax has been cleaned off the balls. At that time, shut it off, move the 8 balls to the shining side, load 8 more to be cleaned and repeat the process. With the cleaner wax, it only takes about 2-3 minutes to clean the balls. You can pick up the cleaner wax at any auto supply store.

i know a pro who uses Maguires and a couple of rags, I figured the balls would skid as I have tried it years ago with a couple different things and messed up the balls. Anyways he took 10-15 minutes and was throwing the cleaned balls on the box, i was knocking them around and they didnt skid and the cloth was fairly new too!! He said it HAS to be Maguires or you'll have problems. Also running the balls in a cleaner for 10-15 minutes on a regular basis has got to wear them down over a year's time. I like Glens plan the best 2-3 minutes.
