There are many diamond systems. Walt Harris's books have probably over a hundred all together. Robert Byrne has some of the best explanations, and you can pick up his books used for under $10. However, I think it is very hard to learn diamond systems entirely on your own. You may want to talk to someone local to you who understands them. After that, you will need to work out on your own which parts of what they had to say will work for you.

because there are lots of diamond systems out there, it is up to you to try to learn as many as you can and choose the one that works the best for you.

personally, after learning a diamond system and putting days of practice in on the table, i can actually 'feel' where the cue ball will go when kicking or banking.

I only use Ron Vitello's diamond system. It works great for me and gets me out of some serious safties. Also, always consider Bob Jewett's advise. He is probably one of the most knowledgable pocket billiard people alive.
