Diamond Table At Mosconi Cup

It does not mean the pockets are buckets. It can happen on 4 inch pockets also if the rubber of the rail is Soft,softer/softest. The ball does not bounce of the rail and it hugs the rail and drops into the pocket.

I know this. Where did I say the pockets were buckets? Johnnyt

Glen, just wondering about the blue label diamonds...
They do seem to accept balls better is it because of a shorter shelf or pocket angles?

The pocket shelf is the same, the pocket angles are the same, haven't changed them in years. What was changed was the cushion body of rubber in relationship to the nose of the cushion, the back was lowered down a little to drop the cushion in the back some, but the nose height is the same. That little change is what stops the banking short and springiness off the cushions, especially when a ball is traveling down the length of the table and just barely comes into contact with the cushion before going into the pocket, the ball doesn't get kicked out from the rail as much, therefore making the pocket seem to play a little softer...until the cloth gets broke in that is, but that's how the rails are suppose to play from day one.
