Did Allison Fisher leave Cuetec?

I was looking into the R360 series and noticed that they took Fisher off their website. Now it's just SVB. Does anyone know about this?

Since we're here, has anyone tried playing with an R360? I shoot Predator but like to try new things and a local room owner suggested it. He may just be trying to push his inventory but he was shooting well with it.

Don't confuse how well someone plays with what cue they're using. If he's playing well, it probably has more to do with his practice quality and/or quantity, not wether he's using the new, fancy cue of the week.

That said, maybe he is pushing his inventory.

I think Alison and Cuetec parted ways a long time ago. I could be wrong about that though.

Oops that sounded nooby :D I guess taking into consideration his style and caliber, it took me by surprise that he would be playing with a Cuetec, which makes me think he's pushing stock.

I wouldn't be caught dead playing with an old style Cuetec w/ the fiberglass coated shafts, but the newer Cuetecs with the R360 shafts are very playable. After they signed SVB, I bought one just to try it. It has since become my "road" cue when I'm on business trips. The tips they come with aren't to my liking, but that was easily remedied. Other than that, they play pretty close to Predators. And, they have the advantage of being disregarded by the "Cue" snobs, so its easy to teach them a lesson with their guard down. I've won several tournaments and cleaned up in several good cash matches with mine.

If the local room owner suggested you change from a Predator to a cuetec he might want to try a different business then sucking customers into using junk to satisfy his pockets. Do yourself a favor and stick with the predator.

I've had my Cuetec R-360 for about a year. It has become my player over my other cues and shafts.

Allison Signed with a Billiard table company in China. I believe it is Star Tables. Maybe they make cues also I don't know. Or maybe her contract was up and Cuetec is just going with SVB. Johnnyt

i've also been playing with an r360 for the past year..i've tried other cues and i keep coming back to the cuetec. i had it turned down to 12.5 and put on a kamui black soft - overall it plays very similar to a 314 imo

I agree the old style with the fiberglass shaft was not good. I haven't seen the new ones yet.
Some folks think every cue is a piece of crap if it isn't cutting edge or top of the line. I say it has a lot less to do with the cue itself, and a hell of a lot more to do with the skill of the player wielding the cue. Cues are just pieces of wood. If having a great cue made folks run out all the time every body would have one.
And to the point of the post I don't think she was ever one of their representatives.

Allison has been with Cuetec for a long time. She does adds for them on ESPN. I think that makes her a representative of theirs.

Stick with the predator

I saw Allison Fisher in Vegas a few years back and asked her if she shot with a standard Cuetek shaft (fiberglass coated). She said she did. That makes her record even more amazing.

I saw Allison a year ago -- she was playing with a Cuetec.

I've owned an R-360 for nearly three years. Not my favorite cue, but it's very playable and delivers a satisfying hit. And it's good value for the money. I prefer the leather wrap on my McDermott to the Irish linen on the Cuetec.

If you decide to buy a CT get it from Ozone or Billiardwarehouse. They have a very good return policy.
I do my best shooting with an old CT. If you buy it from your pool room test drive it for an hour or two. If you want it buy it. I'm thinking of getting a 360 from Ozone.

I have problems believing a top pro is playing with a stock retail cue, that there is not something special hidden under the coating.

They may say they left, but they never do, once they get a paycheck for playing a cue, they will ride that horse until it dies under them. That is one of the keys to becoming a real pro that can stay out there, having some fat sponsor that pays you 75 to 100 G's a year to play their cue and they use your name to make sales.

These deals are usually short, a year or two, and they dump the player once they have milked out what they can get from his name, and they go on to the next hot one coming up, or once they get the cue on the market and its selling, they pay no one any more. Meucci once had 12 pros on their staff, how many have then had in the last 10 years, none.

Okay...... haha

Cuetec

I have used the same cuetec for about 18 years and do quite well with it. I'm still playing with the original shaft, not even the SST. I have won many tournaments and high averages in 8 - Ball leagues, that's what helps me sell them. Just about 9 out of 10 cues I sell are Cuetec. 8- Ball leagues are big in my area and Cuetec Cues can stand up to the abuse they get in the Bars. IMO Dollar for Dollar they are one of the best Cues. I, like most were concerned about a fiberglass cue, but once I was convinced to play with one, I never regretted it. I often told my customers to take one home and play with it for a week, and if they didn't like it, they could bring it back and I would refund their money. All of these years I only had one customer to return the cue. I played many tournaments at Starchers in Ohio. This one tournament I was playing Strickland and we both had the same break cue and playing cue.....he looked at me and was speechless.....classic moment. The reason I played with a Cuetec was, I watched Earl play with the cue, and he did some fantasic playing with the Cuetec. So I think I got my moneys worth from my Cuetec. I did quite a few other brands of cues and tapered the butt portion down to the specs of the Cuetec, for me it just felt better then most cues. Even when I still give Pool lessons or any exhibitions, I still use the same Cuetec. To each his own and it would be a boring world if we all played with the same equipment. All I ask of someone looking for a good cue at the right price, give Cuetec a try, I know it's not for everyone. This is just my opinion on Cuetec Cues.
