Amen to the OHIO winters.

I had read that Howard suffered from a sleeping disorder and it caused him to be tired all day. Once he overcame this disorder and got the new glasses that allow him to see the table better, his game came back to him. This was about 5 years ago or maybe longer.

I hope he is well and living somewhere warm.
Hey, Tom! Cheers for using the larger font-- much easier to read. Maybe someone will enlighten us as to where Howard is living these days...

Glad to hear Howard is still puttin em in the back bracket.

Duck is right, Howard is kind and respectful, alway was so to me anyway. You don't get as far as he has without knowing how to manage a young player woofing after a loss. I hope he beat him for the cash as well as his entry.

Exactly......

Even IF he was second tier for most of his career, that's not too shabby. Being behind guys like Earl, Sigel, Varner, Rempe, Miz, Hopkins, Efren, Archer, etc. is not too bad!:)

It's a pretty big deal to be considered the next level, right behind that list. I watched Howard play several times back in the 80's when Earl was first getting well known. Sigel, Buddy, David Howard, Varner, Grady, Danny Diliberto, and whole list of great players were making the tournament trails tough. They didn't take Howard lightly. He was always a threat to beat any of them. Every time I saw him play, he was a total gentleman, and seemed really quiet compared to all the other players.
Thanks for bringin this back to life.

Isn't Nick Vita a U.S. Open 1-Pocket Champion ?
I am friends with Howard but he can't beat Nick even !

You're right Shawn, but Howard don't play as good now. I'm not saying he can't play, just not like he did in the 80's.

As for that 100% thing of challenging someone who beats you in a tournament, I've always thought that was kinda childish. Now, if you wait a couple of hours and ask the guy to play later because you think you can beat him, thats a little different. If someone asks me right after I knock em' out of a tournament, they definitely get a NO, even if I'm sure I can win. I've always felt they were trying to justify their loss, and pump their ego. I've found it irritates them even more when I say no.

Shawn-- Yes, as you know, Nick Vita won the 2006 U.S. Open One Pocket Chamnpionship in Louisville. He was able to get past both you and Joyner in that event. My guess is that Howard would need 2-3 balls from Nick.

Do you know if Howard moved to Florida?

Are you saying this about ALL blanket statements??? Or can some blanket statements be an exception to this rule?

That's exactly right Mr. Simmons. And are ALL situations different or are most situations different. That is a blanket statement. Mr. Vickery was a very good player for quite a while. I don't know about now. Back when the great accu-stats were kept on individual players, I heard it stated by pro players that there were less balls pocketed after HV safties, than any-body else. He also was said to have a knack for getting people to play that, shall we say, had no business playing him for low or medium $$...

I can understand why you're confused, since above your avatar it says: "I can't read"..........:)
