Anyone know, the result of Busta's match.

Francisco Bustamante cruised 11 - 3 in his first match and gets Teddy Garrahan next.

LOL way to pick em Silencer. I have nothing against Nick but it is comical to see your chosen one and the future of mens pool get beat in the first round by a player that has to be considered one of the weaker in the event due to the strength of the field. Welcome to the real world, maybe you will listen to us now, but nah, you will likely put on blinders and continue to dream that he is a phenom who is going to dominate mens pool. Those races to 5 in the Mosconi Cup must not be a good show of skill, *gasp* who would have thought it!

Tap, tap, tap !

Poor Nick Van Den Berg has a whole contingent of people rooting against him thanks to you Silencer! I'm sure that young man deserves better. Personally I was hoping he would win and play Bustamante, since you compare the two so often it was a match I was curious to see. See you on the table........Marc

Couldn't have said it better myself Playsome. The guy is young and a phenomenal player. Not only that, also a very nice guy and his best years still ahead.
If you paint someone as the next 'messiah' for the sport you're certainly going to create 'anti-fans' who are not necessarily against the player him/herself but against the fanatic support of him/her. So rather than being objective about the player, they want to see the player lose just so they can get back at the original poster.

So Nick lost his first game...so did Earl and Efren and Niels Feijen....it's not over yet though....for any of them...And for sure, for Nick the first BCA or even the WPA title is still ahead of him....and I am quite confident those will still come.

Cheers,
Kimmo

PS. Yes, I know Nick personally so I might not be the most objective person to comment, but at least I try to see things in perspective and objectively.

Agreed with Kimmo & Playsome. I have had nothing against Nick, instead I'm hoping him to do well, especially now that he has reached the "status" when he can enter Mosconi Cup and other invitational events. This Silencer moron makes people take Nick's matches/tournaments under the microscope and analyze them meticulously so that Bernie's ever-so-open noisehole would be shut at least for a while. People are allowed to have opinions but constantly writing posts that are well short on facts and filled with emotional dreamland bull makes regular posters angry. Posting strong unconditional opinions will always create objections.

Good luck to Nick ! He still has a lot to learn and a lot to achieve, but I surely hope he'll do well as well as the rest of the Dutch players Feijen, Lely, Diks etc. :D

dear forum, you are cordialy invited to kiss my ass. when nick van den berg wins one of the 5 majors in this year 2004. how's that drivemaker? p.s. emmotion, opinion, feelings, observations, that's what a forum is made up of. facts are facts, how boring they are. why talk about things that have happened, i say speculate on the future. anyone can talk about how many tournaments efren has won in the last 5 years. you see, i do not cheer for a player just because they are from my home town new york. i feel this is a lie. a falsehood. i cheer for the player with the most talent. i was the only pool player on earth, who back in 2001 did NOT get caught up in corey dueul mania. i saw that kid for what he really was, the world's greatest shotmaker. his position and other areas were weak. i saw that. did you? a champion is two parts, the actual game, and the mental part. nick van den bergs, actual game is better than any player at the bca 9 ball open. however, his mental game, might be very weak. i KNOW for a fact, when team europe was backing him at the prestigous mosconi cup, nick felt "good" and shot his true potential. can the son of a bitch make it on his own? that is the question. i post my gut feelings, i show my hand, i wear my heart on my sleeve, i don't hold back. when you click on my threads, they are genuine. if it weren't for people like myself and drivemaker, people would be running out in droves to spend $250 on a predator z shaft. and that my friends is just plain wrong.

Overstatement- often used in literature and dialogue to enhance an otherwise uninteresting occurrence.

Ex: Bernie's observation's re: Corey & the Z shaft.

GREAT pick!!!!!!

Burntie,

I'm hoping someone has a tape of the match...if so, you can watch it and 'analyze' what he was doing wrong.....

1. Not weaing 'comfortable' clothes.....

2. Not chalking his stick right......

3. Not playing with a Mali.........

4. Not playing EIGHTBALL.........

5. Not turning his "Mind off"........

6. OR some other LAME brained excuse....

With your vast knowledge and expertise in the game of pool, you should review the tape...contact Nick with your findings....get him all straightened out...and go to work as a Pool 'Consultant'. You could become the Butch Harmon of the Pool WORLD. Then as soon as you conquer that....

You could 'analyze' the situation in the mid east, come up with a plan....end the war.....then run for PRESIDENT.

I'd vote for ya!!!!!!!!!!

Hey...you're entitled to your opinion and have every right to fire back if others are taking pot shots at you. I think as usual you might be outnumbered and they're firing gattling guns, but at least you know Bludworth won't be responding to this thread. He's putting his kid's program together in Texas that will teach them etiquette, code of conduct, and cue facts as proposed by Yobagua. I was kinda shocked to see him so positive toward that suggestion and moving ahead with it. Don't be surprised after he gets done with the program, that he writes an email saying he'd like to let bygones be bygones and he'd rather be friends. Underneath all of those layers of crust, he probably really is a nice guy. Keep firing.
