Did you really lose by bad luck?

Luck is a wonderful thing!

Gamblers ought to get down on their knees and thank God for luck every night!

Luck, good and bad, keeps the money flowing. Kick somebody's butt enough times because of skill and even the dimmest usually realize there just ain't a spot that can get them there. Beat them because of the rolls and you can milk them for six months, one or two people I remember, years!

Playing a really poor player that is going to rearrange the table every shot or two, wrecking your patterns and sometimes hooking you, you could blame luck. It isn't true. Their style of play lends itself to those results.

After the first few years I started simplifying my game. The more I simplified my game the less rolls and luck existed, except when I wanted them to.

If he was a weaker player, would you have considered a softer break with the potential for more problems? I don't know anything about the expo, but do you think you would have been more favored in a more grindy game? Would you have been more favored if you fouled and let him break instead? I'm not saying you weren't extremely unlucky, but I'm wondering if you capitalized on all your advantages (depending on the type of player you were playing)

I definitely didnt play perfect and had chances in the the first set that I blew. I really felt like I was coming together after winning the second set and being up in the third set. It's just amazing how quickly the tides can turn in a set. I would say I definitely got discouraged because of it and that didn't help me.

I was practicing a slow break at my home for SBE. I was having really good outcomes with it too. Of course the opponent was like old school and didn't want to do rack your own. So I tried slow breaking a couple times and just wasn't consistent with making a ball and getting a good shot after the break. I felt like he was trying to rack good, but I'm really picky when I rack and try and get the balls perfect. So instead of checking every rack I just went with my power break.
