Dirty balls

I don’t know about that. I’m thinking it might be the cleaning materials.
I thought about this more

I’m thinking there’s something else in there. I got one of the first Diamond polishers ever built and ran it hard for a couple years. Cleaned plenty of spots off balls like that. Wore out the carpet a couple times, I never got black marks. I did get collision marks tho when it started to rattle when the carpet was crushed down or wore down/

Or there’s some black material (glue) on the backing on the carpet, that I never had. Something under the pile of the carpet that’s exposed that’s transferring onto the balls.

Mcguires and carpet shouldn’t do that. Unless it’s in the carpet and now exposed or someone put some shit in the cleaner and it’s polluted now.

Either is likely. Something is wrong and the only thing touching the balls is the carpet or some shit in the carpet like bad Mcguiers.-

New carpet time either way.

About that 59¢, how’s that coming along?😉☕

geeezzz,
I had to look at that again to realize it's a 9 ball.
I've been a bit of a funk lately,
missing basic shots,
when I can clearly see the shot and,
they're all nice and clean,
is,
what I keep telling myself,
hmmm....

Not even close to what a machine can do.

That 15 clearly has lost its slippery outermost layer. Might have been like that before the detergent attacked it, might not.

And a brillo pad works way better than a sponge.

People still clean old school with clean rag, and quality ball polish.

Back in day before cleaning machine, people survived old school.

I’d have one. 👍🏻

It doesn’t even have to be a good cup.
Steve…….honestly do you think I’d ever take you out to a bad cup of coffee or steak for that matter? You have been so kind over the years, let me take you out sometime. We can grab a few other degenerate people if you like.

Your friend, thick/thin or otherwise

Fatboy🙏🏼😀💪

I know you wouldn’t intentionally buy me a bad cup but we can’t trust who’s making it nowadays. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Since our daughter moved back this past summer and it was 6 years since we were there, I made a list of restaurants we liked in and around Detroit. Out of 14 of them only 5 I would go back to again…the other 9 I would have to wait for quite a while before I’d give them a try again.

It was sad.

We can play Backgammon for coffee. Races to whatever for who buys.

People we in third world countries pool everyday with out top of line nothings, they would laugh at the crying about less then top of line equipment.

Same with the food in LA-yuck! Even the good places only use Sysco frozen prefabricated heat & serve garbage.

No fresh ingredients, no prep cooks in the morning chopping veggies. All the veggies are chopped and bagged up at a central plant. Shipped out later-what you get is everything taste the same. Bland oxidized food.

Also with the abrupt shutdowns lingering in the F&B biz here. Everything possible is purchased frozen. So no inventory loss next shut down.

So I started cooking at home again. I’ve always been good it it, love it. Just got to busy in Vegas to take the time, then my back went bad. Al that’s behind me, I’m eating home 9/10 days.

Backgammon is fun. It’s like 1P or 3C ya never stop learning. Wow it’s deep. Great action around LA(which I’m getting bored with) bored with LA never bored with action.

Off to bed again,

Best
Eric 😀

Restaurant have gone to crap, fresh is something from 1960’s.

When whole eggs, whites,or yoke they come in 5 gallon bucks with no shell to crack.

We had “fresh” until 7-8 years ago at real high end places in Beverly Hills. There’s a couple left but it’s $600 for dinner for 2.

The regular joints when I moved here in 93 all had prep kitchens staffed and doing their job so the chefs & such could plate up nice food-at regular places(not regular as dennys or Waffle House) but average spots.

Even the ethnic joints are cutting corners. When the Kosher restaurants cut corners-you know it’s bad in LA

Yes in back market city’s like Denver, Dallas, Phoenix, Memphis etc you are right. I was born in 66, remember 71 well(I have a good memory) and I remember people talking then about the food slipping in San Diego.

Fresh food is still available in NYC, Chicago, a few spots in LA and I’m sure SF Bay Area. It’s not all gone. But it’s in highly dense markets at huge $.

The food in America is so bad in general, it’s amazing how much better s Snickers bar is in Europe than here/ I’ve did the double blind test in that with 10 friends over the years. Nobody likes the American snickers bar. Most things processed or fresh are superior in Europe and especially Japan and Israel (both take food very seriously)

Garbage in America 🥲😟

Problem is companies like Cisco Food bring in boxes marked, Fresh Homestyle Meatloaf. Restaurant puts it in menu as same fresh home style meatloaf, noting is fresh or home style but words on menus.

Texas Road House use canned veggies they enhance with spices. Taste like S..t, so we call it Texas Sh..House.

It's called progress.

How much is your time worth? It would take you 30 minutes to get a clean/shine on a full set of balls that wouldn't be near as good as running them for 30 seconds in a Diamond ball polisher. Sure, you could do it by hand but why would you when there is a better, more time efficient solution?

We can hire immigrants to do it…hmmmm

It’s a joke people, it’s a joke.

The best places to eat in L.A. (and elsewhere) are the small mom and pop places where all the locals go. You know, the places that have been there for generations. You've got to find them, but they're there if you look, and I do. Best of all these places are usually very reasonably priced with good meals at $10-20. Among the chains, the Black Bear diners are the best I know of out West. Still serving home cooked meals with fresh ingredients.

There are still many great places to eat out in every small town in America. You don't have to spend big money to eat well. On our recent trip up to apple country in Oak Glen, CA we stopped for lunch on the way back down at Flo's Country cafe in Beaumont. WOW, what a great meal we had! Savory steak for my wife and thick and hearty pork chops for me. The two most expensive items on the menu and the bill was just under $50. They honored my military discount bringing it down under $40. The waitress was just about the nicest person you could ever meet and treated us both like old friends, inviting us to please come back. I gave her (and her helpers) the biggest tip proportionately that I've ever given anyone before. And yes, we will go back!
