Classless move, but has not changed my opinion of Shane.
If for some reason many people do it and it has become accepted by some, it's still not the right thing to do.
If not ok in someone's home why would it be ok in someone's place of business?
If anybody does that on the carpet that my home table sits on, they will be leaving my home with their cue in their ass.
So does the satellite TV guy when he comes to my house and as far as I can tell he's caucasian.I'll send you some medical booties so you can keep your carpet clean from your guests dirty shoes.(The Vietnamese do it.)

Hahaha the Millennials have the entire world brain washed! Its 2019, if you’re not offended you simply aren’t trying hard enough.
Anybody coming over to my house has my express permission to wipe the tip of their cue off on my carpet. I do it all the time...almost everyday. It leaves a short, blue streak, but if you run your shoe over it a time or two it's gone.
I am more concerned with keeping a pool-shooting buddy coming over to the house to play than I am worrying about a very temporary chalk streak in my carpet.
Next thing you know we're gonna start hearing b*tching about how loud the Delta-13 rack is...or how a full-fingered pool glove (cloth) doesn't let you feel the table cloth on your fingertips, etc.
Pool players do more griping and have strange hang-ups more than any other sports/games players I've ever seen.
Maniac (would you put the chalk back on the rail face up please?)
I don't know a single person who would come to my home and think that was OK. Who does that s a guest? At a dive bar, OK some let their guard down a bit... but in a house. My home room has wood but still.Reading the OP and subsequent replies, for me and my circle of friends, this is a great reminder that no matter who you are or what you see others doing or where you’re at in the world playing any of the cue sports, it’s never “okay” to act classless or disrespectful - toward anyone or anything. Pool room floors included.

Any one ever see Efren or any of the Asian players doing that?
It’s so clearly white privilege!

If I ever let something so trivial bother me Id hang myselfIf I ever wiped the chalk off my tip on a carpet in somebody’s home....
...I’d have to kill myself.
Come to think of it, I’ve never done it at a pool hall either.
One stupid thing I used to do was put down the chalk on the rail any old way.
I would play a lot with a man who was my father’s age.....he carried his own chalk..
...sometimes I couldn’t find my chalk...I’d find it in a pocket...
..:idea2:...I finally caught on...duh...if I put the chalk down blue side up...he left it alone.
...another lesson learned...and not forgotten.
Nothing wrong with having respect
