Discuss Bustamante vs SVB

Bustamante is past his prime. SVB would probably beat him now, but not 10 years ago. Are they going to match up?

Past his prime?
Didn't Busti win the World 9ball Championship last year?

Think they would split multiple sets in the long run.

Don't think SVB would dominate him, unless they make it an endurance/stamina all day every day marathon, where the younger guy obviously has an advantage.

Best Match

I always thought this was the man for Shane to play. He has virtually no weakness and is rock solid in the mental department.

I think it's gambling. Busty has a hell of a break also. SVB won't out safe him. On a real tight table, be interesting to find out who shoots straighter. I think Busty has a better cue ball. SVB in better shape though, he's not gonna wear down during the session.

Race to 25 and under I'd probably still bet Busty, age really counts for nothing but experience does.

Anything over 25 in a single day or something that's gonna last a long time I would take SVB.

That's the kind of match where you really can't put the money in bad, just gotta hope its your mans day in the sun.

This is the best TAR match yet, imo. By far.

Busty is up 1-0 in high-dollar matches. Their first match-up at the DCC resulted in Shane losing a big chunk.

Will be very interesting, to say the least.

What are they betting? $5k a set? $10k on Sunday if they split the first two days?

Hopefully they go back to the 7pm EST start like Shane/Earl instead of the 10pm start like Raj/Oscar. I chose to pass on the last TAR because of this.

I know it gets looped, but I prefer to watch the action live. Staying up till 3am-ish each night, especially Sunday night wasn't going to be an option for me.

The first time they matched up, Francisco won a race to 23 (I think it was 23-19 but I haven't watched it in a while, maybe it was 17). Bustamante really out broke Shane in that match. He had more looks at the one and really just played better all around. That match was kind of strange though. They were both playing really bad and someone pulled the fire alarm. When everyone was let back in, it was like two different guys and they were getting out from everywhere.

I think Bustamante is one of a very few guys that can match up with SVB in 10 ball. His break is not as controlled, but it is strong enough to hang. Bustamante ran a legit 7 pack playing 10 ball this year at the derby, so it's not like he doesn't have it anymore. There are not a lot of guys who are comfortable gambling with Busty. He has a very high gear when there is money on the light.

In races to 25, best 2 out of 3, I don't think either guy is the favorite. I wouldn't be comfortable giving games betting on either guy. This should be a really great match. I think I will keep my money in my pocket this time and just enjoy the show. This is my favorite match up to date. It's almost like the last time they played on TAR, but on steroids.

If they play for twenty K I like Shane, if they play for 50K I like Francisco.

In a 10-ball match, I like SVB against Bustamante in a race to 25 or longer.

In 9-ball, that's a toss up, but I would still bet on SVB.

I would certainly bet on SVB against anyone on this planet playing 10-ball on a Diamond table in a race to 100.

A long match between Hatch/Alcano is closer and less predictable than Busta/SVB.

Shane and Busti

According to Justin and Mark from the podcast last night.

January 13th,14th and 15th If needed

Start time will be 7pm EST.

They are going to play 10ball, Best of 3 Sets, Races to 25.

Justin said there was 5k in the middle. (don't ask, don't know he didn't say)

Same format as Oscar and Raj from this past weekend. Should be a great match for sure.!!
