Dishaw cues

I haev played with three or four of them. One of my best friends owns a rather nice one. All have played very nicely. All balanced very nice too. I think in the 18.5 to 19.5 range. Fit and finish all have been very well too.

my friend is a az'er. Look him up, juda4936

He's the top cuemaker on my list of people I'd like to punch in the face. Treated me and a friend like garbage, and my friend is a repeat customer of his. I will never be one.

But his cues are a different story. His older cues hit and play much better than his newer ones IMO. Forward balanced, softer hit, made when his attitude showed he cared about his product. If I were gonna buy a dishaw, I'd only consider picking one up second hand thats from the early to mid 90s, but anything new(er) I wouldn't waste my time or money on.

Dishaw Cues

I had the best experance with Dan, he was very help full and just a great guy to deal with. He sent pictures and I got to chose the wood from 70+ pieces of very nice wood.

My cue shots very very well and I have had it for about 8 months now and LOVE IT

Any questions for me, PM me and I will be happy to talk to you

The ballance, hit, and quality is some of the bet I have shot with

You seem to be the only one to ever have a bad issue with him. Many people who've dealt with him for more than 30 seconds would say he is one of the nicest people to deal with or talk to.
We are only hearing one side of the story, from someones who always exaggerates when telling a story. I can give you several examples of your exaggerations if you want, as well as times when you were stating false facts.

Now to answer Dawgie's Question, Dishaw's cues are very well balanced, solid hitting cues. When he started out, his cues were known as the 'Poor Mans Southwest' because it was a less expensive alternative to buying one from Franklin, and it had a very similar hit.

Also there have been past threads about this, there are more posts and opinions of the cuemaker.

What is the opinion of the Dishaw cue owners, concerning hit, playability, balance, etc.?

I just got one this week and I love it. The cue has a good firm hit, not overly stiff, well balanced, the shafts are well tapered, and the workmanship is exceptional. I have a lot of traditional looking cues, and this design is very unique and much different than most of my other cues.
I got used to the hit very quickly which is always a good sign. Since getting this cue, I have talked to others who have played with or own Dan Dishaw cues, and everything has been very positive.

Please George, you were there @ SBE. He didn't even stand next to his display at times. How many times did we walk by it to see if he was there? Not to mention when me and Ben went back. You are the friend mentioned in my post. Of course, him constantly calling you charlie went over your head, right? You didn't think he didn't forget your name...

Please PM me these exaggerations and false facts.

Edit: But I will stand by that comment in the post you linked, the cue played good, he just sucks as a guy.

I was at SBE, and some times he wasnt at his display, neither were other CMs. Paul Dayton wasnt there when I stopped by the first time. He couldve been going around talking to other cuemakers.

And he only called me charlie once, which I corrected him on.

And Yes, I'm the repeat customer, but I dont believe he treated anyone like 'garbage', maybe it was just a misunderstanding and Justin never gave him a chance. If he did, then he certainly wouldnt be able to the high reviews his customers, like Juda4936, gave him.

If you go to turning stone today or tomorrow, try not to punch out anyone. If you do, then maybe you have some anger management issues, which you should have it checked out.
