Do you need photos taken at the Super Billiards Expo?

Hey guys,

As many of you know, I'm a semi-pro photographer. I don't do it full time but I do shoot the occasional wedding, anniversary party, graduation, etc. It's actually more of a hobby as I would much prefer shooting landscapes than people. Most of you have seen the photos I do when I'm selling a cue (or just check my sticky at the top of this section for some examples) but I usually don't take the time to set up a bunch of lighting and such just for that purpose.

Anyway, I'll be at the SBE on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday if anyone would like to have any photos taken. I can do personal collections, single cues, exhibitor booths, or just about anything else you would need. If you have a bogger project we could do it at your hotel room or after hours at the show. If you're a cuemaker and would like some photos for your website or Facebook page I can accommodate that as well. But please bring any props (tools, parts, etc.) with you that you would like in the shoot.

I may also have some time to take some photos of the show for those of you who will not be able to make it.

So if you need something photographed shoot me a pm with your cell phone number and I'll call you as soon as I get it. I carry my phone with me all weekend and I have internet access with it so I usually get to emails in a timely mannor. Or you can always contact me before the show with specific needs and we can schedule something.

Just an FYI, I am offering this as a free service so long as it doesn't take too long. If I have to take multiple photos of 10+ different cues, or an entire collection, a bottle of Malbec would be appreciated as a donation.

How about the next time you're in Marlborough?

;-)

Sure Chris! I'll be there on Saturday. I can certainly swing by and do a few for you. But one catch..... You supply the beer! And I KNOW it will be good! :-)

Finally!!! Does that mean we're(AZB members) finally gonna get nice high res photographs of nice cue collections?? I for one am looking forward to it since I won't be able to visit SBE...

Jive if you expect high res pics on the internet, you expect too much pal. The net will only handle so much, sorry. If you want High res you would need him to send you the pics on a disk or something. My semi pro camera is 24 mp's and in no way would this forum handle that. I am unsure what the absolute best this place could shoe but it won't be high res. Sorry man

By semi pro, I meant that my camera body is the flagship DX model Nikon makes. The Nikon D7100. I too shoot and get paid sometimes for my work...but always in the summer and I don't usually post those on my website

I need to head out by 4:00pm. Will that fit your schedule?

If so, I will PM you my address and cell.

And YES, I have beer!

when you shoot at 24mp and then reduce the photo size it's still detailed enough to see every spec of dust in the finish.

2mp is enough to do that.

The camera catches way more detail than the human eye does.

Nah... it's not so hard as long as you have a place to host them.

-Upload the high-res pic to a hosting site (I usually use Dropbox... it's free and easy)
-Post a 1048 X 1048 sized photo to AZB so the thread isn't crazy huge.
-Make the small photo on AZB a hyperlink to the high-res photo.

Then, if anyone wants to see a high-res version of a photo, just click on it.

Nothing else to do but enjoy the wonderful details. :)

John, no matter what MP your camera shoots, at a similar size like 4x6 ALL pics are the same resolution. a 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, etc...are going to be the same resolution as long as the camera body is capable of producing such at similar resolution ( EX. 300DPI, 240 DPI, etc...). Yes the camera catches way more detail than the human eye, for sure.

that isn't hosted here

You just reiterated my point. With the hyperlink it is still taking you somewhere else. A HIGH RES pic cannot be hosted here on this website

Sorry, but I do not agree with this statement. While the D7100 may have more MP's I would much prefer the D300s. It's basically a Pro DX body.

I'm not exactly sure on the timing. I have to go to Paul's to pick up the JP's and shafts for my new cue and I'm not sure how the day will play out. Shoot me your cell number and I'll call you if I get done in time.

Actually what i meant by high res pictures was actually just beautiful and well captured photograph with good lighting and proper focus. Wasn't expecting anything too large. Like what monstermash have been doing for all his cue photographs those would be awesome.
