Do you sit on pool tables?

Thumbing through the Olhausen catalogue this morning and was surprised to see brothers Butch and Don pictured while perched on one of their tables.

Then I turned the page to see another picture of Loree Jon Jones -- with her butt parked on the table.

Call me old school, but I never sit on a pool table and saw guys who tried it run out of rooms. Maybe these were old-school pool rooms?

I agree and it will be the last thing you sit on in my room if you do it twice! That's a 2 strike and you're out rule!

Yep, unaceptable. I don't sit on mine at home and so what would give me the thought that it's ok on someone elses table? Do unto others as they say.

It's a matter of respecting equipment so of course not.

But....if it's for a photo shoot, I don't think it would be completely ruined.

You know what, that is a good point. I guess if you have permission to sit on the table for a photo shoot then it would be ok. I guess the issue is when people just sit on the rail BSing and drinking etc. I'm with you.

I saw a table for sale recently that advertised it was "strong enough to hold 3 dancing girls" :)

Last Summer a Vistior to our Pool Room used one of the Pool Tables to CHANGE A BABY DIAPER, needlees to say she got a long lecture.

Jeremy,

No offense, but I have been in Wally's from time to time, and considering that most of the crowd is young, drunk, and not interested in bettering their pool game, I am doubting these rules are much enforced.

I've personally seen a bunch of people leaning/sitting on pool tables there.. Is there new management or something? I mean, I have been away for a while, so maybe things have changed..

Sitting on Table

No, I don't. Besides I would have to stand on my tiptoes before I could ever do that.... :D

No!!!!!!!!!

Pool tables are heavy and built very stoutly and they probably could handle the extra weight without totally foundering but this is not the problem. The rubber rails are glued to the rails and are very easily torn loose making a dead hit at this spot. When informing people to get off of and stay off of the tables I always explain this and then the offenders understand the problem and don't get an attitude. If you just yell at someone to get off without explaining the reason why people just think your are just picky and wanting to show your authority.

I have let my 2 yr old crawl on the table at my house so he could roll balls around (trying to hook him early), but I have never stood or sat on my table.

I have also given some good friends the wat-for when they decide to try sitting a drink on the edge while they shoot.

I dont smoke in my house, but at pool halls I hate seeing people smoking while they shoot, dropping ashes on the table.

Thats what gets me, leaning on a table....ehhh.

Setting your drink on the table is a different story. Is it that hard to put a drink on a table or on the floor. Does it have to be within arms reach at all times? What gets me even more, are those people that think setting their drink on the rail isn't safe enough. NO NO NO. Those cost $3.5, they need to be placed in the side pocket. So all sides of the beer bottles are protected and there won't be any party fouls of spilled beer.
