Does anyone know this shot?

ok I see it now thank you

My method for hitting this shot and it is a very low percentage is to jump on the ball so the kiss knocks the cueball into the air and allows the OB to travel towards the pockt if hit right the Cueball will land on the table.

Besides a gaff shot, I don't see why I would ever need to shoot that bank playing 1 pocket, and I hope ALL my opponents fire at it!:)

ok right spin.

Since you're soo confused I'll try to explain the reasoning here.

If you use right english it throws the OB to the left or rather cuts the angle shorter because of collision induced throw. that's not enough in this case so you have to also hit it really hard. This is so the OB will go deeper into the rubber of the rail, again cutting the angle shorter. It takes the combination of both the spin and the deepness into the rubber to get any where near the pocket. Even with this knowledge it is still an extremely low percentage shot.

Slam it with high right, if you really have to play this.

Better yet, hit your easy button, and if you're lucky, Jason Miller or Glen Rogers will magically appear and shoot it for you.

Why is this shot possible ? Because the object ball will sink into the cushion rubber almost half an inch if you shoot it like 100mph. So, at the moment of impact, the cueball starts moving away and the cueball and the object ball are half an inch apart at most and if shot correctly, the cueball will have time to clear out from the path of the object ball. The inside english helps but I think the speed is the main factor here. Well, I've always been good in theory, but...

I'll give it a try, if I manage to start making it regularly (yeah, sure), I'll videotape it, only for you. :D

I Have seen Jayme Goodwin & Richie Richeson both make this shot and I have tried it numerous times with no success. They banked the ball straight back at about 600 miles per hour. The ball was frozen or extremely close to it and the cue ball was straight on. I assume you would use high right, but I am not sure.

I tend to agreee that high right may be the only way to make it...but I swear when you decide to shoot it that way, the left corner pocket makes a "click......wrrrrrr" sound.....as in "the vacume cleaner coming on and sucking that cue ball right in the pocket"

If all you want to do is make the ball, kick it into the pocket, using right english, hitting the the rail first. That will roll your object ball to the corner pocket, and is a little easier than the shot you have on the Wei table. The shot on the table use right english, hitting the object ball a little more than one quarter.Use medium hard speed. Remember a cue ball breaking a rack is seldom more than 24mph. Efren Reyes averages around 19mph on the nine ball break.

We have a winner.....I made it twice on a nine footer tonight and it is definately speed more than the english.....I used maybe a tip of center right when I made it. The ironic thing is that the guy that helped me has the same last name that I do (Jantti)

Lol ! I'm always there for a relative, even a distant one :D Man, do we really share the same family name, Jantti (mine spelled Jäntti, you know, with the weird dots) ?

Well, now I'm exceptionally glad I was able to help you. :)

What did the c/b do after they made it? I'll assume it's the same type of shot as in The Hustler, the c/b jumps up and out of the way which lets the o/b pass.

Right ain't gonna do nothing, that is it would be correct but no way will it hold up the ball enough here. I'm a betting man they can shoot for a hundred a pop all day long.:)

This is a Pinch Shot.........

It is hit with extreme middle right english, The reason it is shot hard is because you need to make the object ball indent into the cushion so the cue ball has a chance to get out of the way. The extreme english also holds and reverses the object ball.

The closer to the pocket with this shot, the more speed and inside english you would need to make the shot.
