Will using the magic rack for "smash break" games, save the table for us 1pkt and straightpool players?
Worst thing about 9/10 ball is break divots-wear tracks& the spot divot!

No, it will not... Though it may slow it down a bit.
The head ball (and all the others) is still in direct contact with the cloth.

One thing you could try, if you are talking about protecting your home table:

Place a few pieces of scotch tape over the foot spot.

I did it when I started practicing with a breakrak (as recommended in the instructions) and it did help to preserve the spot a bit.

What's wrong with a stick on spot? Just spray on a touch of 3M adhesive to the back of it before you place it. I don't even understand the concern.

Should one not be serious in saying that a stick on spot will prevent a divot?

If the divot is coming from players hitting on top of head ball...trying to keep it still, then yes it might.
But on a break shot, 9 times out of ten the cue ball is in tbe air when it contacts head ball, so in that case it will not.
