Does Predator make a Jump/break?

I just bought a Predator Bk2 and I was envisioning a Jump/break cue when I ordered it but it is not a jump/break stick. Does Predator even make a Bk2 jump/break?

Such a shame that I have to look so naive here but I need answers.

Should I order the Air jump then? Is it better quality in both cues to have a seperate break and a seperate jump stick rather than a jump/break?

I have an x-breaker that I was planning on selling when I got the bk2 but now I'm wondering if I should send it back and get a different Jump break combo.

I have a BK2 I love it. I have a separate jump cue ( not the air). I was thinking about getting the air, though not a high priority to me.

A jump break is a great way to go. I have had these as well. They are a compromise though. I prefer a dedicated break and a separate jumper. A combo takes up less room in your case and is leaa to carry around. It is a good option so you do not have to buy a whole new case for another cue that you may not use very much.

Comes down to your specific needs/wants. I will say that I would hold on to the BK2, I think that they are one of the best breakers around. Being that you already have the BK, trey experimenting with some jumpers. I bet sombody you know has a predator air.

You can convert it to a jump-break.

KJ that does all the work for Seybert's has done it many times and according to him it works great

Predator doesn't make a J/B cue, not yet anyway.

As Skor stated, I've converted many Pred. BKs to J/B as well as a SP or two. It's a straight forward conversion, nothing complicated or tricky. I could have sworn that I had a pic or two of the BK conversion here on AZ but maybe it's over on the Seybert's forum. People like to show them-off once they get them back. Until I can find the BK pic, the SP pic will give you an idea of what's entailed. Please feel free to PM if something like this is of interest to you.

I have a Predator BK2, and I jump with it all the time when jump cues aren't allowed even though it's just a break cue. It's an awesome break cue and it jumps very well for me too.

I love my BK2 and Air Jump. It's definitely worth having both. I even sold my Rick Howard J/B because it started gathering dust.

I may be mistaken, but isn't the Poison line made by Predator?

I have the Poison VX2.9 J/B and love it. Everyone I have talked with that has one speaks very highly - some call it the best they have ever tried.

You do not look naive at all, it's a good question.

I have owned and played with newer x-breaker; gulyassy sledge hammer (both versions); fury; and others. They were all very good (x-breaker jumped the best imo).

However, none of them breaks the balls as well as the Predator BK2 I am currently using. The "hype" was right, it is the best break cue I ever used. I get better separation and the balls just seem to roll better and longer to help find a pocket if the corner ball doesn't go. And I do not have to hit the balls as hard so I'm getting better control. My break is typically weak so this is a welcome change.

Having a break cue only gives you the flexibility to select the best of the best jump cues. I think that's worth carrying one more thing in the bag. I too like the Predator Air-Jump but it takes getting used to because it's sooooo light.

Air jump cue

I have a friend locally wanting to sell his Predator 'Air' jump cue, pristine condition for a Franklin. PM me if interested.

Separate jumpcue and breakcue = more money

also means better quailty, when you use a j/b you combine specs of both and they perform okay but not as good as if you used different cues, i use seperate cues because i like my break cue in two parts not 3 its more solid that way.

i would break with a one piece cue if i could.

I asked Predator that many years ago. Their answer was that they thought characteristics that make a good break cue are incompatible with characteristics that make a good jump cue. I don't know if that is still their philosphy, but it was then.
BTW, did you know the term "break-jump cue" originated for regular playing cues that broke down for jumping? Somehow along the way it morphed to refer to a "break cue" that broke down for jumping.

I've never heard this before. I bought my first break/jump cue in ~1990. It was most definitely designed for breaking and jumping. I cant' imagine the term originated much before that, but I'm open for a bit of education.

I love both the Predator BK2 and Air, and
have written posts on it, buddy.

Here are the links:

Could be interesting reads. And I kid you not!

The Poison line of cues are designed and engineered by Predator.
