Does southwest do wraps?

I was thinking of possibly buying a southwest plain jane (already paid for pharoah's bender) but the only small annoyance is that its linen wrap.

Does anyone know if SW will put on a leather wrap? any idea of cost and time? I would hesitate to get it done by anyone else cuz i know the value will also drop if someone else other than SW touches it for work to the cue:( I would call and ask, but i am impatient.and its 12 am now..i am sure someone here is looking at this screen :D

That sucks poop..cuz i want a nice wrap done..

hrmm.any suggestions on who could do a wrap that wont bring down the value.. I trust proficient for their quality of work..but their refinishing wont retain the value..maybe if i get a guy like mottey or white to do it ..what a pain in the arse:P

SouthWest will make a handle cut for a leather wrap (whatever reasonable thickness) and send it to someone else for the wrap. They sent my new cue to Paul Mottey for a lizard wrap who then forwarded the cue to me. They have done this for me twice.

Thanks Cuaba, u mean the slot for the linen wrap is not deep enuf for the leather wrap? I guess i do have to call Laurie and ask her how i can get this done.

Linen, leather, lizard, etc. can be different thicknesses. Laurie will want to know who is doing the wrap and what it will be. She will then find out from the cuemaker exactly how deep to cut the handle. The wrap sould be perfectly flush with the rest of the cue. SouthWest wouldn't have it any other way.

Laurie worked this out for me with Paul Mottey for a couple of lizard wraps. But I don't know who all she will work with? It will have to be someone that she is confident will do a good job.

Just send it to forum member JWPetree...the best leather wrap on the planet. Tell him I sent you for a big discount! :D

I second JW Petree. He's wrapping a Bluegrass for me as we speak. He's done a lot of wraps for a lot of satisfied AZ'rs.

Ditto to the two above.... he's done one for me and is making me a cue with another as I type.... :p

I guess i could consider that. Well.i have to buy a SW first..but ..just wnated to make sure it could be done..hrmm.now i just have to find one i like.

I sent my Franklin Southwest to JW for a leather wrap and he did a SUPER job. I highly recommend him.
