I agree,i never thought of that,he is sitting on a gold mine.promote something.come out with his own line of chalk.lol.or pool gloves with a string from one to another so you dont lose em.lol .anything....id buy anything.
Yup.. When you think about it.. He is such a likeable champion, people will pay more for a good product if it is associated with him, just because they'd like to see him make a bit more money for bringing so much enjoyment to the game.
I'd pay for a Sir Joseph glove +$3.00 if the $3.00 went to Efren.. Reyes endorsed Master's chalk? +$2.00, not a problem.
+$3.00 Q-Slick papers, with Efren's face on it, sure.. Why not..
Shaft towel with an embroidered sinature of Efren Reyes on it for $10.00? I'd do that, just because I like Efren.
And I am far from one of those people that swoons over celebrities. I'd just like to see Efren make as much money as he possibly can. Become stinking filthy rich, if he can. Actually, he IS, by Phillipine standards. MORE money never hurts, tho.
We're talking more than endorsements, here.. We all know he has a few deals out there with American companies. I am talking signature lines or branded products that have his name on them, and the manufacturers can just bump the price a few dollars for the branded line.
No other pool player has been as iconic since Willie Mosconi. I think in general, the general pool playing populace has more discretionary income than in Mosconi's day, evidenced by the ability for multiple companies to sell $500.00 + production cues..
Imagine this..... A black T-Shirt with white letters that said:
"What would Efren do?"
OMG, I am drooling when I think how well that T-Shirt would sell amongst the mid-tier players. Of course, the pros probably wouldn't be too crazy about it..
How about this T-Shirt?
Front:
"I used to spot Efren the 5.."
Back:
What? I didn't say I liked it!"
