Don Willis, Denny Searcy or Vernon Elliot?

[rossaroni]

With the recent threads about Don Willis, I thought I would try and get people's opinion about the greatest undercover player of all time. Seems that Willis, Searcy and Elliot were all champions who would rather not be in the limelight. Who do you all think ranks number one? Since they were all from different eras, it would be possible to have a three way tie for all time great undercover player. If there were others, I would love to hear about them too.

JACK COONEY from this era! He may be the all time best undercover player.

From what I've seen with regards to SEARCY/ELLIOT in addition to what I've heard about WILLIS admission for the ring game would be $ well spent

Cooney's got my vote too.

From what they say about Searcy, Elliot and Willis may not have liked to play payball on a snooker table.

Of course Cooney has to be mentioned when talking about undercover.

I'm biased because he lived here in Charlotte...but in his time Denny was unbeatable. Even well past his prime the man was still world class...don't believe anything else.

The only argument I would have re Cooney is, best player. Jack was not the best player of the 4 mentioned. I do believe he made more money, possibly than the other 3 combined. No one ever laid it down better.
