Donating a new pool table, trying to gauge what type of felt to use

I am donating a table to a local childrens hospital. They currently have a table and it is obvious from the abuse the other table got that it needs a backed felt.

I was thinking Mercury Ultra backed, if anyone has an idea for a more durable longer lasting cloth let me know.

Backed Ultra (3046) should be fine.
If you can't find it locally give us a call.
We have it but not listed on our website.

Thanks, I get all my felt from billiard wholesalers though.

On a side note to you, knowing what championship titan sells for wholesale what do you think about 69.99 with free shipping, retail. I'm sure you probably know who I'm talking about.

Assuming you mean a 7' precut - I'm not aware of anyone reputable selling Titan retail at 69.99 with free shipping. Rather idiotic price IMO.

If you check out ebay, DB entertainment is selling 8 ft precut titan for 69.99 with free delivery. DB is one of championships larger accounts.
I spoke with championship and hopefully this will change. They really need a map price for their product if were to continue to sell their material.

I checked DweeB last night after Chris made his post but didn't see free shipping.
Looked just now and I see it - 2 losers racing to the lowest price. (DB and BilliardEx)
It's a laugh. The way I figure it if either makes $5 a cut it's a lot.
Doesn't look like they sell much when looking at the "purchases".

I'm reasonably sure that DB is Not one of D&R's larger accounts.
Don't hold your breath for any changes.
Agree there should be a MAP but doubt it will happen anytime soon.

Since last years BCA Show in Vegas I've had several discussions with Fred Cohen at D&R about this with no resolution.
We just started offering Mali and will be adding Forstmann soon.
Probably pretty easy to figure out our intentions based on the previous 2 sentences.

I was selling felt on ebay for a bit, I was just getting it drop shipped, I didn't make much, but I made more than $5. No point of even attempting to sell on ebay when you have people selling it for $69.99 shipped. That was who I was talking about just wanted to make sure I wasn't stepping on any of your toes.

I got a call from Bill at Championship last friday and he said they were implementing MAP pricing, and acted like it was my fault. But I am not the one selling cloth at a few bucks above wholesale and then giving free shipping.

I'm not directly inquiring about what you pay for cloth dartman, but do you pay far less than what Billiard Wholesalers charges? I know what it costs and I am just astounded that someone can get away with $69.99 with or without free shipping.

I had an extended MAP discussion with Fred Cohen at the last BCA show in Vegas and I've spoken with him on 2 subsequent occasions regarding same. I know for a fact that one of his top distributors has also been pushing for MAP. So no, you are not to blame.

Outfits like DB Entertainment, BilliardEx and PoolTablesDirect only cheapen the Championship brand with their ridiculously low prices. Consider tho - where they sell and do battle with other in their race to the lowest price - eBay. :D

I did hear today tho that Fred recently made the statement that they will go to MAP next month - seeings believing.

I was told or under the impression db entertainment was actualy a sales rep that works @ championship.

I don't know on that.
I can say I've had discussions with Fred and Mike over the past year concerning that site but they have yet to do anything.

Now I'm hoping this news I received today is true -
D&R will be implementing MAP pricing within a week

That's the impression I got when speaking to David at DB......
they are incredibly slow at getting it shipped out regardless.
If you want it overnighted, better order it about a week plus in advance.

Stick with Dartman, Rick's always been on the ball!

But I would tend to agree with the Titan as well. Seems to work well for the bangers at some of the poolhalls............

He is definitely giving you the wrong impression. His site is a direct copy of Championships and I really don't think D&R would let someone who works for them semi-cannibalize there market with insanely low prices.

MAP will correct the lowball pricing issue.

I've discussed the similarity of the 2 websites with D&R (Fred and Mike) in the past and the impression I got was that they would take some sort of action. Never did.

It's pretty obvious that DB is a substantial copy (sans colors) of the D&R site. I know I wouldn't allow this to continue so it raises a lot of questions about collusion.
