Drexeline Billiards in Philly Suburbs just installed new Simonis. Go get some!

It was always 760 since the early 1990’s except two times. The owner tried 860 once about 15 years ago. All the players hated it, because it was too slow. So he went back to 760. About 5 years ago he tried a Simonis knockoff. I forget which one. That lasted one recovering, and it’s been 760 since.

The players in this room are all serious and we prefer 760 for this room. There is a creek nearby, and I believe it makes the cloth slower. My personal opinion after playing in the Philly area for 25 years, is the speed in this room on 760 is equivalent to the speed in other Philly area rooms that usually had 860 on their tables. The main games in this room are one hole, 9 ball, and straight pool.

The carom tables always had Simonis 300 carom cloth on them.

Agree with your observations. The Simonis knock off he put on was Championship cloth and it was like playing on ice. The carom tables are heated also and both play well but it seems the one closest to the back wall does not play as well as the other.

Bob takes care of his equipment and never stops moving when he is there.

You will have no problem finding one pocket action there. They have four dedicated one pocket tables.

I was there with my son last Sunday. We played on table 3 and it played great. Great room and great owner.

PM me and we can match up for some one pocket. I'll treat you to a real Philly cheesesteak at Jim's.

If you go, make sure you walk around the room and look at all of the memorabilia. There is so much old memorabilia on the walls and in cases that it will take you an hour to take it all in.

I’ve been there and had no one to play me. It was a slow night and two guys were already in action. I’m staying at PHL so I’ll give them a day and Blue Grass a day.

I visited the room once during an SBE trip with my son. Was a good mix of "players" and casual play. A kid that plays out of there is a good shooter, and great kid in general, Ivo. I think he would be maybe 14 now. If you know him, tell him Lazar from MA said Hi. His parents at least should remember me, we met a few times in various states during Jr events.

Ivo comes up to Boston to attend Roy's major junior events. The last time I saw him play was at Crow's a few months back.

I played out of there for 18 months when I was in Philly and always drop by during SBE. Love everything about the room.

Most of the one pocket players are there from 11ish until 5. There is a special where you play all day until 5pm for under $10 (I forget the amount, because I'm there at night when I go...). If you want to be sure of a match up, a lot of the player now are on FB to make a game, then meet there. Its definelty not like the 90s where you walked in the room, and there were 20 people with cash in their pocket looking to play. ha ha.

Tuesday night is handicapped 9 ball, $5 entry. Starts at 8pm.
The second Thursday of every month is scratch 10 ball, $30 entry. Starts at 8pm.

I guess you didn’t read my earlier post. I have booked a session with Mitch, he’s on speed dial

I did miss the earlier post. Mitch always has a key in the door. Have fun. Summer has been real spotty for me. If things work out I'd like to watch you guys play.

Glorious.

I used to do interbike- a cycling trade show- at the expo center there an 2 yrs in a row, somebody broke into the van.

2nd year, van was empty, with windows. They smashed 2 windows for nothing.
Same deal...I know a person lived in center city, Would park car with doors unlocked and glove box open..... some dick still broke the window. What leaves me a little hazy is how come people do not steal books from cars. And I think the least likely store to get looted is a book store.

Philly is a certified Phila cheesesteak expert. I nominate him to enter the Steak Bowl if there is one. Maybe Drexeline will sponsor him. I’m retired. I was one of the best in my day. I’m good for a large 20” from Pudges lately. I slowed down. Lost the edge. I need a good spot to compete.
