Drum Sanders?

Hey guys what brand do you recommend for a 10"? I use mostly JET equipment however I have gotten mixed reviews about their drum sanders.... Grizzly is what I'm leaning towards for a new model but was wondering if anyone else has input on one that they have had good luck with?

I have a Jet. It sands nice. The sanding drum is a few thousands per inch off to the table, but for most things that does not cause a problem, so I have not bothered to try and figure out how to adjust that perfectly.

I have a Performax 16-32 which I believe is made by Jet and have not had any trouble with at all.

I have been very happy with it, especially for the price of it. It's almost identical to a Shopfox model. I found it easy to adjust the thickness across the width of a board. I do recommend attaching a dust collector that does down to .3 or .5 micron.

Thanks guys! I am going to look further into this as they are both close to the same price grizzly is a few more dimes...but it seems I am on the right track according to the responses! Chris have you had any trouble with the overload safety being triggered under a light load with the jet? That and tracking issues are what people are griping about. But they could just be clueless and don't know how to properly adjust the table!

i have the performax 10 also
have had some tracking issues as well
not a big deal to adjust when needed
breaker has kicked when taking too big a cut
if you get this, i recommend buying the rolls of sandpaper from klingspor rather than the pre-cuts
you can get 11 out of a full roll for about $40
i think grizzly also sells 3" wide rolls

He missed and 3 foot putt to lose the British Open to Jack Nicklaus in 1970 at St. Andrews, the home of golf.

I have the grizzly..... works great.... I think they all need a little TLC to adjust ....

You must use a dust collector or you will choke to death............

No. Mine has never shut itself down even one time. But I use it for cue stuff like 1.5" turning squares and maybe 3 inch wide stone inlay slabs and not 12 inch wide boards. I have even sanded metal with it to remove rust.

I do not use a filter bag, but pipe the dust right out the wall.
