Hello here is a review of a Duc Lam blank with work done by Carolina Custom Cues. The blank was heavy. It was around 20oz before any work was done. Overall the blank quality was very good. The veneers were not dead even but on the overall even. I finally went with Carolina Custom Cues for the work because of price and turn around time. The cue was delivered at least 3 weeks early. WOW. The cue looked great overall. There was a bubble in the finish. There are very small black specs in the Ivorene joint but overall I am very happy with the finish. I did want the points higher to the joint but I guess that is the best that they could do. I was told that there was some problems with the veneers and you can see a thick splice line where the high point veneers meet. Looks like the veneers separated. This happened on 3 of the 4 high points. I don't know if this is because of the quality of the blank or workmanship but it is not readily noticed unless you really focus on the veneer work. The playability is right where I want it. The cue hits crisp with a good amt of feedback. I wanted Sniper tips on the cue originally but Carolina Cues ran out of Snipers. Instead of waiting for some Snipers I had them put on Everest tips instead. Upon trying out the cue I went back to Snipers and I am really happy with how the cue plays. I am very happy with the cue and would happily and definitely do business with Duc Lam and Carolina again. The cue is not 100% perfect but I would put it at 99%. Apart from the veneers slightly separating I would not be even writing about the very small bubble in the finish. I wanted a player full splice sneaky and I got just that with a little flair. Thanks Duc and Carolina Cues.
