dudley tips

I make mine from the Elk Masters as most do. I have a Schon shaft that is 12.35. Put a Wizard on it and couldn't buy a ball if my life depended on it.
Yesterday I put a Dud on it and shot a few games last night and 100% better. Part of it is me getting used to a small tip, but I'm used to using softer tips so this change made a huge difference. Try one, you'll either like it or not, chances are you'll like it. With the Wizard, I couldn't feel a thing, nice feedback with the Dud. I have another cue with one on but haven't shot enuff with it to be able to answer how well they hold up. Apparently they last for a long time tho.

I bought a bag of 50 from Muellers and put one on my golf/snooker cue. I probably have about 7 hours of play on it and the tip feels great, holds chalk well and, surprisingly, doesn't have a hint of a mushroom yet! It's like a top notch played in Elk Master.

Can someone tell me how the dudley tips play and how they hold up.

I put one on my old Viking, and I am very pleased with it. They hit like a med soft. A word of caution though, be careful when you put them on, because if the tip decompresses during the install, its no good, and you will have to start over. I had one put on by a local pool room worker, and it was decompressed during the install, so I had to cut it off, and put one on myself. With that said, its a great playing tip if you like a softer hit, and after the initial shroom was trimmed, it has held its shape remarkably well, even after using it to break with numerous times. thats my opinion, and thats all I have to say about that.
