I never bought any dvd's of the PPV matches from TAR as I've watched them all on PPV. I got the SVB vs "the Lion" a few days ago. Most people say that the match was one of the best matches ever, and I don't just mean people under 30. Even us old timers feel it is way up there as the all time best.

What I did discover while watching the dvd was that because I always have at least $500 bet on the PPV matches that I didn't watch it well to help my game. I was on the edge of my seat for almost every game and shot because I knew if someone missed, broke dry, or left a small piece of the ball on a safety it could mean a 2 to 5,or more swing in games.

Now that I'm watching the dvd I'm getting so much more learning out of it. If you are thinking of getting a dvd to watch and learn 10-ball I can't think of a better one to own than this one. Thanks TAR. Johnnyt

I have all 3 sets of lion vs svb, and the 1st is just classic superb.
2nd is more like other pros' play
3rd is a must have.. you just gotta watch it yourself from 0-100 to appreciate someone as alex who had a heart of Mars to come back when was down so many games against svb:)

TAR truly rocks~~~

I have the SVB vs Alex race to 100 match. I bought it for the sole purpose to learn safety moves and kick safeties. Its also nice to see how often you agree in the run out pattern played. There are times when I thought I would shoot where SVB or Alex would play safe. I could review the game and see why their safety was a better option than trying to run out. There is alot to learn from theses DVDs and highly recommend them to serious players.

I have all three sets as well. I agree, the race to 21 has great commentary (I just watched it again yesterday), and the race to 100 is incredible <---- very much recommended.

JT,

I have a few DVD's I can watch over and over again. Not everyday but every couple months. Sometimes I look at a match and look at momentuim swings(because I know in advance whats going to happen) I try and see where or what caused the change in momentuin, It can be done watching it live-but when you watch a match several times you WILL AWALYS see things, important things you dont catch live, or the first time you watch the DVD. Some matches I wouldnt watch the DVD because its just not a good match IMO.

But having the the right matches on DVD is the nuts and alot of fun.

happy holidays,

eric

These videos and their commentary are far more educational than people realize, and they have helped my game tremendously. HIGHLY recommended, but I wish they would switch to TV balls so that I can tell which ball is next . . . :embarrassed2:
