Earl and SVB

Well at least we don't have to see a third "gay men playing pro pool thread" from Patrick Johnson :grin:

It seemed impossible....but you managed to do it, Champ....
..you made a worse post than the original...:yikes::shocked::shocked2:

Good grief!! Gag me with a spoon.

Shane has no dump in him but everyone has a little dog in them. Sometimes that dog just can't be controlled.

He used extremely poor judgement, asking the way he did.

I find it near impossible to ignore the transgression- he deserves whatever flack he gets.

I agree with you. It's really hard to win the last rack of a match when on the hill. It is my toughest rack no matter how the balls lay. Yes...maybe I'm a choker and also the best one out of the money player there is. Frustrating!

At one point of the match Earl gave up and Shane let him back in. I do the same thing and it sucks.

I think the intent of the guestion is not clear ,, dumping means for a bet ,, if he mentaly quit that would be a differant issue

I think SVB lost because of the constant sharking of Earl. I don't understand how is possible to let Earl shark everybody he plays. He costantly complains about the pool fans who shark him, don't applause at his shots, etc... and then he costantly shark his opponent ( "he is lucky he is deaf", "you are luckier than good" ( to Souquet LOL), Efren "living in a hut in the jungle",etc...). Also his constant complains get old very very soon, during a match who want to hear a person saying "he gets the rolls", "the guy can't play", "You can't do this shot, I can" on every shot? I mean, it could be funny for a shot or two, but during the entire match..
Obviously pool is not a mainstream sport, so Earl can do whatever he wants. He couldn't do that in a snooker competition for sure.
"In pool we need characters" I agree but Earl is just a bad character.... we need more players like Alex Pagulayan than like Strickland.

I guess you never watched fats play in the day....he never shut his mouth for a minute and nobody ever complained about it. Jay has stated that earl behaved quite well. and never had an effect on shane but that just aint good enough for all the earl haters. Shane is a great player but give earl his due, pool aint for sissy's

WOW. Dumb post of the day. Thanks for playing. Next time, try and actually watch the match. Jay Helfert was right there, and there were NOT any problems... other than those in your railbird brain of yours :)

I heard something not very nice during the match. Ok, maybe Shane didn't lose the match because Earl sharked him, but did you forget how he sharked him on the 10ft challenge and even insulting the crowd? Do you really believe Earl is not a "sharker"?

fats was more known for his gambling matches and hustling. Because the private matches are not official, the sharking moves are tollerated. Maybe not very classy but it's not the same thing during a tournament.
Also Fats ( to my knowledge, I didn't see him play) was more of a funny character than Earl. Earl at the table just complains how the conditions are easy, how the crowd is not educated and how the others get lucky.

I don't think you know what sharking is.

Earl actually kept his composure. There was so many times he got up to the table and had nothing to shoot at. How would you feel if someone made 3 or 4 balls on the break 3 times in a row. Your game of 10-ball just went to a game of six ball after the break.

talking when your opponent is at the table, isn't that sharking?

It's just the way it always is and was. Fans are alway making comments about Earl and to Earl loud enough to make sure he hears it. They like to get him going...like WWE style.

I'd like to see more shooters express their emotions and thoughts. Makes it interesting in a way. This is America and people are a little nuts here.

Neither one of these men(earl, shane)have never ever dumped a match in their careers,Earl mite b alot of things, but to ever b involved in a dump,no way,he loves and respects pool too much for any of that,as is the same for Shane, any way when a match is dumped ,it is dumped early on in the set,not when the score is 10 to 10,that called lots of pressure(dogging)not dumping!remember most of these pro players hardly ever play on these 10 footers,so all shots could b flat out missed,Take a pro golf player, put him on a much bigger course and then watch his score rise, more green is tougher on everybody!
