and Manalo just lost his 2nd to Dallas West!-Figure that one out.

Pretty soon we will be saying-"Well it is 8 Ball- anyone can win".

Most have been saying that.

Dallas West is one of the great 14.1 players of his era, he can read a rack about as well as any of them there, he's just pretty darn old is all.

Remember the world series of tavern pool years ago for $50000. Dallas West. He just happened to have played all games pretty well. LMAO!

That's horseshit. You wanna consider yourself a top player, a professional, and you can't make one ball on the break consistantly.

Go play one pocket then with all the other geriatrics.

The EXPERTS are getting a little testy.

Ive been saying this for a year. Some people have tried to poo poo this and argue that the break isnt that huge. This is absolute nonsense. At pro level all the players runout percentage will be HUGE, patterns and strategy might give a player a slight edge but it pales in comparison to the break.

I expect the best payers to be running out atleast 80% if they make a ball.

80% might be a bit of a stretch, but I agree with your point100%.
Another factor IMO, is that for years we have been playing on Simonis and there was no need to develope the stroke as in years past. Those with the natural stroke are just now getting used to the old stuff again.
Simonis has made the game too easy, just as the winner break at the IPT level is too easy.

There are 4 or 5 really good players (Manalo, Parica and Luat included) in "Deep Doo Doo" (as you put it) down 0-2. If they all fail to advance, this will be a day of MAJOR upsets. Oh wait a minute, you only care about Strickland...I am sorry I interupted you. Tell us again how this proves how much HE sucks.

I only care about Strickland
Your sorry you interupted me?

Hey Fleece,
Have you been smoking some kick a$s bud today or something?:D

I have to agree with this one.
If you look at the set that anyone won, a lot of them are have 3 or more
B&R. Case in point Group 47 Jungo is 3-0 so far, bcoz he has 5,3,4 or 12BR, Rodney Morris is 4,5,6 or 15BR but when he lost to Sambajon he has 0 and Sambajon has 3BR. Group 46 Raj Hundal is 4-0 so far and he has 4,5,4,5 or 18BR. Or when Efren lost to Davenport, the latter has 3BR while Efren has none.;)

These top players who can't make a ball on the break consistently would gladly spot you the 5-out and rob you blind :D

Judging from some of your past posts, I don't think you've been playing very long, so maybe the 3-out.

Oh and by the way, when is your buddy Cliff Thorburn gonna come out here and play someone?

Judging from his past posts(smashmouth so there's no confusion about who we're talking about) I think he just likes to talk smack. It's possible he may know someone who might know someone who knows someone who knows Cliff Thorburn.

Hi Cheesemouse, I saw you in the chat room the other day!
Oops, sorry about the match with your buddy.

Nope, won't call him while he's in his zone. When I was in Vegas, he told me that if he wins an IPT he would take me out to dinner to McDonald's and I can supersize it!! So I have to keep rooting for him!

Looks like I don't have to sweat his last match today with Strickland after all. That's a good thing IMO.

Ok maybe 805 might be a stratch on this equipment, BUT don't forget Im not talking BREAK and run, Im just talking running the rack first visit (eg either they made a ball on the break or they come to the table after their oppenent had a dry break).

TheThinDigit,
I have NO idea about the percentage; but you would have to think it is at least 70%. As I've mentioned, there are several IPT'ers willing to bet they will win greater than 50% of the games (GIVING you the game if they fail to break and runout) if you give them the break on equipment that is fast, where their percentage of making a ball is at least 80-90% (ie. 70% of 80% is still a 56% win percentage).

Now that I think of it, 80% is probably pretty close to the ballpark. Even with 2 clusters, most are a favorite to runout if it is their shot. While the equipment makes some difference in runout percentage, their success rate will still be very high, even on tight pockets/slow cloth; I believe the biggest difference is in the percentage of balls made on the break.

"Oh and by the way, when is your buddy Cliff Thorburn gonna come out here and play someone?"

When was it EVER said that Cliff was my buddy?

When was it EVER said that he would travel to play?

I now realize that reading comprehension is not your strong suit as you can't even grasp the concept of the KOTH, even after you were made to look like a simpleton.

In any case, I've tried being polite, I'm done with you.
