Pretty soon we will be saying-"Well it is 8 Ball- anyone can win".
Most have been saying that.

Island Drive said:Dallas West is one of the great 14.1 players of his era, he can read a rack about as well as any of them there, he's just pretty darn old is all.

smashmouth said:That's horseshit. You wanna consider yourself a top player, a professional, and you can't make one ball on the break consistantly.
Go play one pocket then with all the other geriatrics.
TheOne said:Ive been saying this for a year. Some people have tried to poo poo this and argue that the break isnt that huge. This is absolute nonsense. At pro level all the players runout percentage will be HUGE, patterns and strategy might give a player a slight edge but it pales in comparison to the break.
I expect the best payers to be running out atleast 80% if they make a ball.
Thanks! Whew, so far so good! But a long way to go yet.ironman said:The whole world is rooting for Gabe.
Fleece3 said:There are 4 or 5 really good players (Manalo, Parica and Luat included) in "Deep Doo Doo" (as you put it) down 0-2. If they all fail to advance, this will be a day of MAJOR upsets. Oh wait a minute, you only care about Strickland...I am sorry I interupted you. Tell us again how this proves how much HE sucks.

Judging from some of your past posts, I don't think you've been playing very long, so maybe the 3-out.
Oh and by the way, when is your buddy Cliff Thorburn gonna come out here and play someone?

ironman said:80% might be a bit of a stretch, but I agree with your point100%.
Another factor IMO, is that for years we have been playing on Simonis and there was no need to develope the stroke as in years past. Those with the natural stroke are just now getting used to the old stuff again.
Simonis has made the game too easy, just as the winner break at the IPT level is too easy.
TheOne said:Ok maybe 805 might be a stratch on this equipment, BUT don't forget Im not talking BREAK and run, Im just talking running the rack first visit (eg either they made a ball on the break or they come to the table after their oppenent had a dry break).
