Well, I had the good fortune of being able to go to Chalk it up Billiards last night to see the exhibition put on by these guys. Chalk it up was a nice room in Manteno that I previously did not know was there.

Earl and John put on a nice show with Earl hitting some good trick shots, and making some difficult stroke shots. John played a little straight pool , and then played a local in a race to 6 in 9 ball. The local played well, but John still beat him 6-0. I had the good fortune of being John's first partner playing scotch doubles. I missed an easy 2 and a harder 3, but eventually made the 6. We won the game after my opponent missed a straight in 9 and John cleaned it up.

The guys stayed after for signatures and pictures and made the whole thing a nice evening. Its nice how accessible pro players are. Both were great ambassadors of the sport. I will have to try and make the $5 8 ball tournament one of these fridays, and will definately come to another event if Chalk it up has one.

Mantis, thank you for the support and we are really happy that you had a good time. After all thats what its all about. I am not sure if I met you as it was pretty busy and if I did I wish you had told me you were mantis on AZ. I like meeting azers and putting names and faces together. Thanks again and I am sure that we will be back there again.

I was the first one to play scotch doubles as John's partner. I never really got a chance to introduce myself because you guys were so busy. It was a good time though.

Pictures

Here are some pictures of me and some other AZers that were there. I will upload all of the pictures to shutterfly later tonight and post a link here. It was a great time. I was fortunate enough to be there for both the lessons and the exhibition. John and Earl were great. They took their time with every person that wanted to meet them or take pictures and the show was great. It is nice to see two great guys out promoting the game we all love. If you get the chance and can afford it I recommend doing the lessons as well. They are great with answering questions so even if you are almost a pro you can at minimum take 1 good tip from the sessions. It is also great seeing different thoughts on the game and how it should be played.

Looking forward to this weekend in Lincoln, NE at Heidelberg's sports bar. Got the guys coming in for the exhibition and school!

well now i kind of wish I called off work. By the time I got up there after work everyone was gone.

Oh well from the sound of it the owners of Chalk it Up were thinking about doing it again so I guess next year maybe I will get to see it.

Bill...I'm sure it was a great experience! They seem to work well together, and both are nice guys, and tremendously skilled at the table (each in their own right). I was lucky enough to see their first show last week in Detroit, and it was terrific (John...I hope you got your cue back quickly!)! Now that they've got a few appearances under their belts, I'm sure the shows and schools will be great everywhere they go! Best wishes to Earl and John! What a great thing for C.S.I.! Way to go Mark Griffin (and Holly), for making this happen!

Hey Mark

Thank you Scott, I am very proud of what I have done so far with the guys on this leg of the tour. If anyone has any Questions you can call me, Mark Cantrill at 480-612-7732

I wanted to let you know, that one of the ladies from here, is so ecstatic about her and John beating Earl and his partner. She is a lower level league player, and this is something she will be totally excited about, probably for the rest of her life. The fact that she knocked in the winning 6-9 combo, has her on top of the world. No matter what would have happened in the game, the fact that she got to play pool with them, would have been plenty.

Thanks to your whole group, for creating the excitement for the players, and for helping build our sport.
