Hey Johnnyt, no apology necessary, but it is greatly appreciated. I realize I have little-to-no street cred here on AZB and I expected many to be suspicious.

Would really like to see this, but I can't make it. I had been wondering if Earl's cuetech sponsorhip had a no gambling clause. It's great that he's getting back in action again!!

Hey guys, just an update. First off, I fat-fingered our phone number in the first post. It is supposed to be: 336 852-1448 (I fixed it in FP too).

Also, Earl is here in the room right now practicing. How cool is that?

Well I get off work at 7 in the morning and I am planning on getting some sleep and heading up. How can I miss the first time Earls gambled in forever? Should be awesome. Drater if they are not done by the time your normally close are you going to stay open?
 
No problem Drater.Glad to help actually.This way everyone knows whats up...we get the occasion wing bat on here so you just never know.

I had a lesson with Earl a few weeks back at Mike's house so I still had Mike's number saved.A few minutes on the phone removed all doubt and now all of AZ knows what's what....good stuff all the way around.

Someone please get a picture of his cue for all to see...tennis wrap,taper and all.I wish I had.Its a sight to behold.I'm sure thats what he's swinging cuz boy oh boy did he talk that thing up over the hours I was there.

Gotta say too.....he was stroking the hell out of em with it though.I'd love to make it up for this match....I'll bet it's entertaining.

Boy im glad i looked at this thread tonight..i might have to call some buddies up and make a trip there tommorow to see..I live in Richmond...and its a hop and a jump to NC what a treat...we will see..i like both players so i hope who ever is stroking em best wins
 
I just got home form watching BJ play in a tourney at New York Billiards in Raleigh. No comments on his play from me but I'll be in Greensboro for sure.

If Chew is that helpless then he ought to qualify for more weight. I will stake him for $5000 in a ten ahead set against you if he gets the wild 7/8 and the breaks. Winner breaks.

We'll see if he learns how to tune in "Ol' McDonald bet a Farm" on that kid's radio.

Nothing against you. Just that a guy that can't play deserves more of a fair game dontcha' think.

it was a joke between old friends yoyo.another typical post from you about how much you will bet when i know for a fact you wont bet that the sun is hot.you on the other hand cant play an automatic radio and i wished you were there also so WE could play some so i could make you whine and pitch a fit like you did when i beat you in a tournament at the cue once.do me a favor,keep pounding out those designer cases and stay off my post.

Hmmmmmmmmm... Isn't that quite a bit more weight than was originally offered?

I saw the 8, but nothing about the 7 or the breaks, which is quite a different proposition.

exactly my point,he got tons of heart of gamble huh? hell he will stake a strong player with a monster break getting the 7,8 and the breaks....wow john really? ive known chew all my life and hopes he is there tomm.i havent seen him in about 3 years.

So I get it was a joke - fine - and I get that I can't play - you know that already so if you post here WHO YOU ARE and give me the five out and the breaks then you can stone cold bust me.

I will PAYPAL my stake to Kevin Varney and PAY ALL THE FEES AND GIVE him 5% for holding it if you will do the same. We pick a date in December and a place in Charlotte and you can just bust me. I will play at Smokin Cue, The Green Room or Rack Em. Whoever doesn't show up forfeits the stake.

You have me clocked "can't play an automatic radio" and I don't know - or care - who you are. If I pitched a fit then it's probably because you are some kind of nit that got on my nerves.

All you had to say was that it's a joke between you and Chew. Hell since y'all are such "old friends" then I guess you won't mind if I take a pass on staking any part of any bet between y'all.

But YOU and I can play. You can beat me to death giving up a fair spot to a guy that can't play a radio (true by the way).

And BEFORE you go off about me haveing no heart by asking for the weight. YOU clocked me as being helpless. You are the one who talks about how YOU have taken off so many players and played for huge amounts. I have no reason to doubt that you are a world beater and plenty of world beaters have beaten my with that weight and more. If you aren't willing to give up the weight after having played me and in the knowledge that I am helpless then I'd have to ask who lacks heart?

Yes and it was directed at the comment that Chew is helpless as a player. I thought Dimes really wanted to play. I didn't know he was just clowning around - whenever someone barks at me telling me how helpless I am then I just ask for a spot that corresponds to that status as a player. Of course if someone doesn't want to give up enough weight to give a helpless player a chance then I guess they are just wanting to steal. Not too good a proposition for the weaker player is it?

I bet on a lot of things that ARE GAMBLING because then I get the nice warm fuzzies when I win. Unlike a lot of players I meet (not you at this point because I don't know who you are) who only want to steal and wouldn't get in a tough game with a gun to their head. I HAVE NO RESPECT for good players who only look to steal from weaker players. So IF you are that guy then you get no respect from me - if you aren't then GREAT.

It isnt you. It is the pool player edge that has you. If some one pounds thier chest then if you have any gonads at all you have to want to pound his.
Chewy is freaking great player, better than dimes i would bet, but I dont know them well enough to bet that I wasn't being cut-up.

Please come by to watch. We open at 1:00pm and there'll be a $5.00 cover starting about 6:00pm. We've got a bar with full ABC permits and grill. 17 pool tables (8 8' and 9 9'). Lots of seating to watch the action.

Those of you that have been to Shooters in the past will be surprised by the overhaul we've given the place. It's a friendly, clean, and well-lit room with pleanty of action and I'd love for any AZBer in the area to swing by for a few hours.

Just kidding ,I used to live 30 min from that spot.Glad
to hear Earl is out using his talent . When I took a lesson
from him he also said he was not into playing in any of the
smaller tournaments any more .Maybe he will start doing
that again too .....:D
